                          Saving the Son from the Snake’s Mouth

        The following is a true story. It happened in the north of

Australia,where many animals live in the forest.

       Liza,a 33-year-old woman,was cooking lunch in the kitchen while her three-year-old son,Barney,was playing alone in the backyard.

       Suddenly ? a cry from Barney was heard by his mother. Liza ran into the backyard and found a big snake trying to eat the boy. Liza was frightened and quite angry. She made up her mind to save her son from the snake, s  mouth. Liza forgot what she faced and picked up an old hoe from the ground and hit the snake hard.

        One. . . two. . . with the hoe,Liza hit the snake again and again. The little boy’s voice and breath were getting weaker and weaker. Liza’s heart was broken and she went nearly mad. Liza put aside the hoe and threw herself to the snake,opened her mouth and bit into its back.

        By and by ? a small piece of the snake was bit off. Liza picked up the hoe again and hit the wound hard. The snake was so badly hurt that it left the boy and moved back into the forest quickly. It had never imagined how human had such strong teeth!Half way home,the snake died.

        It was the mother's love that saved the little boy.
