韋編三絕的故事

孔子是我國古代的大教育家，被后人尊稱為“圣人”，他一生都熱愛學(xué)習(xí)�？鬃拥搅送砟�，喜歡讀一本叫做《周易》的書。

那時候的字是寫在一片片竹簡上，一部書要用許多竹簡，必須用繩子把這些竹簡編連在一起才能閱讀。通常，用絲線編連的叫“絲編”，用麻繩編連的叫“繩編”，用熟牛皮繩編連的叫“韋編”，其中為熟牛皮繩最為結(jié)實。像《周易》這樣厚重的書，當(dāng)然是由許許多多竹簡通過熟牛皮繩編連起來的。平時卷起來放著，看時就打開來。《周易》的內(nèi)容非常復(fù)雜難懂，孔子就翻來覆（fù）去地讀，這樣一遍又一遍地讀來讀去，把編聯(lián)竹簡的牛皮繩子磨斷了許多次。

即使讀到了這樣的地步，孔子還是不滿意。他說：“如果我能多活幾年，我就可以多理解些《周易》的文字和內(nèi)容了�！�

后人經(jīng)常用“韋編三絕”這個成語來形容人學(xué)習(xí)勤奮刻苦。
