【題目】閱讀下面的短文,按照要求寫一篇英語短文。

James Bender, in his book How to Talk Well tells the story of a farmer who grew award-winning corn. Each year he won a blue ribbon. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it.

The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. “How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” The reporter asked. “Why,” said the farmer, “didn’t you know? The wind picks up pollen(花粉) from the ripening corn and carries it from field to field. If my neighbors grow bad corn, cross-pollination(異花受粉) will slowly reduce the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.

He is very much aware of the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbors’ corn also improves. The lesson for each of us is this: If we are to grow good corn, we must help our neighbors grow good corn.

要求:

1. 寫作內(nèi)容:人與人之間本應(yīng)和睦相處、互幫互助、共同進(jìn)步;

2. 以約30個(gè)詞概括短文的要點(diǎn);

3. 發(fā)表你的看法,談?wù)勀愕恼J(rèn)識。

4. 字?jǐn)?shù):150詞左右。

【答案】

A farmer always won a blue ribbon in the state fair every year. His secret is that he helped his neighbor grow good corn to grow his own corn better.

So is our life. People in the world cannot live by his or her self, not depending on others. Those who choose to live well should also help the poor to live well, for the value of a life is not measured by the wealth one gains but by what the life brings to others. In fact, we're all members of a big family. As a Chinese saying goes, “One for all and all for one.” Donating blood to others benefits the donator. Picking up rubbish in your neighborhood creates a tidy environment for all the residents.

Therefore, we should help each other and get along with each other to improve our lives. Only in this way can we get our dreams of living a harmonious life realized.

As far as I can remember, grow up in Ohio left many good memories and very few bad ones. We rented a home near a lake where I spent good time of my life. I attended to school to learn a variety of course, and went camping overnight in the woods. My dog and I would go fishing in the lake that I mentioned early. During the winter we will come down at night and go ice-skating on the lake. In Ohio the snow could be heavily sometimes and too deep to walk in as I was not that tall at the time. It was not until I was sixteen and moved to California when the life was changed. This was a tough change for me because the area total differed from Ohio. There was no rivers or lakes to fish in at all.

【題目】Have you ever heard of Paynes Prairie? It is one of the most important natural and historical areas in Florida. Paynes Prairie is located near Gainesville. It is large, 21,000 acres. This protected land is called a preserve. The Florida Park Service manages the preserve.

The Paynes Prairie basin was formed when limestone dissolved and the ground settled. It is covered by marsh(沼澤)and wet prairie vegetation. There are areas of open water. During brief periods it has flooded enough to be considered a lake. Except for that, the basin has changed little through time.

Man has lived on Paynes Prairie a very long time. He lived there as far back as 10,000 B. C. At one time, the Seminoles lived there. The prairie is thought to have been named after King Payne, a Seminole chief. During the late 1600s, the largest cattle ranch in Florida was on Paynes Prairie. Today, Paynes Prairie is preserved land. It is occupied by visitors and Florida Park Service employees.

Willam Bartram visited Paynes Praire. Bartram was the first person who portrayed (described) nature through personal experience as well as scientific observation. He lived 200 years ago. He visited Paynes Prairie in 1774. At that time he described it. He called Paynes Prairie the “great Alachua Savannah.”

Most of the animal life, which Bartram described, is still here. A large number of sandhill cranes, hawks and waterfowl are here in winter. The animal diversity is increased by the presence of pine flatwoods, hammock, swamps and ponds.

The Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is open year round. The Florida Park Service works hard so that the park will appear as it did in the past. It offers many opportunities for recreation. At the park you can camp and picnic. You can hike and bike. You can boat and fish. You can ride on horse trails. And you can see lots of nature and wildlife. You can see Florida as it was in the early days.
