【1】根據(jù)空后“find which you consider meaningful.”
【2】根據(jù)主題句“Read material that is at your level, or just a little difficult for you.(閱讀和你水平相當(dāng)?shù)牟牧,或者?duì)你來(lái)說(shuō)有點(diǎn)難的材料。)”和后句“And soon you will be able to take on more difficult content.(很快你就能閱讀更困難的內(nèi)容。)可知。最好呆在自己的舒適區(qū),堅(jiān)持閱讀。故選F。
【3】根據(jù)空后“helping you to learn.”可知,這里用現(xiàn)在分詞作定語(yǔ),修飾前面的名詞,又根據(jù)前句“If the subject matter is new to you, you should even try to read a few different books or articles about the same subject, before you move on.(如果這個(gè)主題對(duì)你來(lái)說(shuō)是新的,你甚至應(yīng)該試著讀一些不同的關(guān)于同一主題的書籍或文章,然后再繼續(xù)。)” Learn to read in depth, stay on the same subject for a while.(學(xué)會(huì)深入閱讀,在同一主題上停留一段時(shí)間。)
根據(jù)下文“You can enjoy reading without understanding all of what you read.(你可以在不理解所有內(nèi)容的情況下享受閱讀。)”
根據(jù)后文“you may need to underline, take notes, and read some parts over again , in order to retain what you are reading.(你可能需要?jiǎng)澫聞澗、做筆記、再讀一遍某些部分,以便記住你正在閱讀的內(nèi)容。)”

It’s 5:00 in the morning when the alarm rings in my ears. I roll out of bed and walk blindly through the dark into the bathroom. I turn on the light and put on my glasses. The house is still as I walk downstairs while my husband and three kids sleep peacefully. Usually I go for a long run, but today I choose my favorite exercise DVD, Insanity.(瘋狂60天健身) Sweat pours down my face and into my eyes. My heart races as I face my body to finish each movement. As I near the end of the exercise, I feel extremely tired, but a smile is on my face. It’s not a smile because the DVD is over, but a smile of success from pushing my body to its extreme limit.
Some people enjoy shopping, smoking , food, work, or even chocolate. But I need exercise to get through each day. Some shake heads when they see me run through the town. Others get hurt when I refuse to try just one bite of their grandmother’s chocolate cake. They raise their eyebrows, surprised by my “no thank you,” or by my choice to have a salad. Over the years , I have learned it’s okay to just say “no.” I shouldn’t feel sorry for refusing food that I don’t want to eat.
So what drives me to roll out of bed at 5:00 a.m.? What gives me the reason to just say no to ice cream? Commitment. A commitment to change my life with a way that reduces daily anxiety, increases self –confidence and energy, extends life and above all improves my body shape. This is the point where a smile appears on my face as I look at myself in the mirror or try on my favorite pair of jeans that now fit just right. It’s through commitment and sweat that I can make a difference within myself inside and out.
【1】Why is there a smile on the author’s face in the morning?
A. Because she sees her family sleeping peacefully.
B. Because she feels a sense of achievement.
C. Because she enjoys the interesting DVD.
D. Because she finishes her favorite exercise.
【2】What does the underlined word “commitment” in the last paragraph mean?
A. Good health. B. A strong power.

A. She acts in a strange way.

In 2005, Winston Duncan was traveling with his mother in Southern Africa when he saw an old lady and young boy walking down a road together. He thought of his own grandmother and wondered how he could help the old lady and others in Africa who have to walk a long way.
Duncan, who lived in Washington State was 10 at the time, and his solution was to give them bikes. With his mom, he started Wheels to Africa, an organization that for the past 14 years has taken bicycles donated from residents of the. Square dancing has been more and more popular with the elderly as their living conditions improve. Most people thought it can help people take regularly exercise and improve their fitness. Besides, it provides people more chances to take activities outdoor. However, some people argue that the music is very noisy, that disturbs the surrounding citizens’ normal life. Also, be exposed to such loud noise may do a harm to their health in the long run.
In my opinion, square dancing is a good form of exercise, so dancers should take our neighbors’ needs into consideration. If they choose a right time and turn down the music, it will cause less troubles for others.

That summer day, we set off early in the morning, think it would be a great fun to walk for so long a distance. However, with the weather getting hotter and hotter, I found their legs heavier and heavier. Worse still, my feet began bleeding because being pressed against the shoes a long time. At one point, I even wanted to give up. But I manage to drag the rest of the way to the destination. Though not pleasant, this journey was impressive or rewarding.
