①These days, people with serious heart problems can have a heart transplant - in other words, another heart is put into their body to replace the heart with problems.
②Christiaan Barnard was the surgeon (外科醫(yī)生) who performed the first human heart transplant operation. Barnard was born in 1922. in his native South Africa. He studied medicine at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 1953. Then he went to the USA and studied at the University of Minnesota.
