It is said that the eyes are the windows of our soul. Beautiful and bright eyes not only show a good health but also make you look very attractive. However, to have healthy eyes you have to look after them properly. Your eyes need everyday attention. There are different ways to keep your eyes healthy.
Pay more attention to your diet. First, eat food that is good for your eyes. They are fresh fruits and vegetables as fish, eggs and milk. Besides, you should take a regular amount of vitamins A and B2.
A regular sleep is a must. It relaxes the eye muscles(肌肉) and gives them the rest required. Sleep not only helps the body to repair its tired tissues(組織). Usually, you must sleep for at least seven to eight hours every day. Loss of sleep can give you dark circles under the eyes.
We use our eyes in many unnoticeable and wrong ways. For example, if a small thing goes into our eyes we start rubbing(揉) it, which is wrong. Rubbing can cause damage(破壞) to your eyes. Don’t read or write in poor or bright sunlight. Always use sunglasses can cause eye tiredness. Light should not shine directly in your eyes. Too much reading, writing, watching TV or working on the computer can also cause eye tiredness.
Remember to always take care of God’s most beautiful gift to you. Your life will be very colorless without your eyes.

Hello, I’m Peter in the second grade. Now I have one thing to say: It’s not easy being a kid. Being a kid might look like fun, but sometimes it’s not fun at all.
Yesterday I was playing outside with my friend. We were having a good time. But suddenly, my mother said, “Peter, it’s time to come inside now. It’s getting dark.” When you’re an adult, no one can tell you what to do or when to do it.
When you are a kid, you have to get up early in the morning and go to school. At school, you have to study math, English, science and history. After school, you have to do your homework. When you are an adult, you do not have to go to school and you never have homework to do.
When you are a kid, the older kids sometimes pick on you. When I was walking home from school on Monday, Tom and Steve bothered me. Steve took my schoolbag and put it in a tree. It made me very mad. When you are an adult, no one can pick on you.
When you are a kid, you have to go to bed early. On school nights, my mom asks me to go to bed at 9:00 pm. But I do have parents who love me, which is really great. So I think I like being a kid, even though it’s not easy being a kid.

I was in line waiting to pay. A little boy in the front was buying some clothes.
I noticed that the little boy was paying mostly with change (零錢). It seemed that he had broken his pig bank (豬形儲蓄罐) to do this shopping. However, the cashier told him he was $ 8.00 short after counting his money.

Tuesday, 1st September
I had mixed feelings today, nervous, worried, happy, excited… My heart went down when Miss Chan, our head teacher, said that Matthew and Beth, two students from England, would spend three months with us! I was worried that I had to speak English so much! But at the end of the school day, I was happier than I thought: the morning with them today was more enjoyable than I expected.
Today is the most unforgettable first day I have had! Matthew is fantastic! His English is clearer and easier to listen to than I thought. The other English student, Beth, is the most helpful girl I’ve ever met. There were lots of things to do on the first day. Beth offered to help Miss Chan put up all the notices. Of course, some of the credit (功勞) should also go to ME because I translated some of the notices for her. Miss Chan praised us!
We finished all the preparations 10 minutes earlier than expected, then Beth and I talked for a while, Matthew sang several English songs and did some stand-up comedy (單人喜劇表演) at the party. We all praised him. When the bell rang to end the first school day, none of us wanted to leave.
When I went back home, I had a little headache. I have probably spoken more English today than the whole of last year.
It was really a happy day! I hope our friendship can continue, even after they gone back to England!
