It was a windy day. I had kept an empty, washed glass bottle on the patio (露臺(tái)) for drying, which I intended to use for some craft (工藝品) project. Because of the wind, the bottle rolled, fell and broke on my downstairs neighbor's patio.
My neighbor uses his patio frequently,so I immediately went down to warn him about the broken glass. However,he was not at home. I took a broom (掃帚) and cleaned up most of the mess (臟亂的東西) around his patio from outside, but there was still some broken glass left inside his patio. I didn't want to intrude (闖入) into his property (財(cái)產(chǎn)) ,so I left him a note that explained what happened and asked him to contact (耳關(guān)系) me,so I could clean up the mess.
After an hour,he called me,and asked if I could help clean up inside, because he didn't have a broom.I went to his place and happily swept off his patio, clearing the broken glass.
While I was leaving,he thanked me. He remarked that, normally, his neighbors wouldn’t even have bothered to inform (通知) him that the glass had broken, and he would have probably hurt his feet.
I was glad to have connected with him,and extra glad that his feet were safe. And I returned home with a reason to smile for the rest of the day!

根據(jù)第一段“…which I intended to use for some craft project. ”可知,作者計(jì)劃把瓶子用作工 藝品。
2. A詞義猜測(cè)題。根據(jù)下句“…so I immediately went down to warn him about the broken glass. ” 中關(guān)鍵信息詞 immediately (快速地) ,可推測(cè)鄰居會(huì)經(jīng)常使用陽(yáng)臺(tái)。 故frequently意為“頻繁地;經(jīng)常地”。
3. B 細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)尾段 extra glad that his feet were safe,可知作者擔(dān)心鄰居的腳被碎玻璃瓶扎傷。
對(duì)此類(lèi)題型,考生可以首先從問(wèn)題中找到關(guān)鍵 同,常用 who,what,when,where,why 和 how 等提 問(wèn),即5W + 1H,然后以此為線(xiàn)索,運(yùn)用略讀及查閱的 技巧在文中迅速尋找這一細(xì)節(jié),找到后再把這一部分 內(nèi)容仔細(xì)閱讀一遍,仔細(xì)比較所給選項(xiàng)與文中細(xì)節(jié)的 細(xì)微區(qū)別,在準(zhǔn)確理解細(xì)節(jié)的前提下,最后確定最佳 答案。
例如在解答第1題的時(shí)候,設(shè)置的是what疑問(wèn) 句,運(yùn)用査讀法,可以在短文中快速找到信息句which I intended to use for some craft project ,故可以輕松選出答案。

Winter is coming. It's time for the arctic ground squirrel (北極松鼠) to get her underground home ready. Winter is long and cold in northern Canada. Plants can't grow,so there are no leaves or grass for animals to eat. They must find other ways to live. The arctic ground squirrel “sleeps” the winter away.
① For months the ground squirrel has been eating lots of seeds, mushrooms, and berries. Now she is fat. The extra fat will keep her alive through the winter. At last she crawls through a tunnel (隧道) into the nest she has made. She curls up,wraps her tail around herself, and goes to “ sleep. ” Only she won’t really be sleeping. She will be hibernating.
② The ground squirrel's body is usually as warm as yours. When she hibernates, her body becomes colder than ice. But she doesn’t freeze. Her heart beats just one or two times each minute. She will take only about three breaths each minute. These changes in the ground squirrel's body let her live through the winter. When she hibernates, she doesn’t need much food.
③ The ground squirrel will not stay in hibernation all winter. Her body warms up and becomes active for a few hours once every few weeks. Over the winter, these active times use up more than half of the energy that she worked so hard to store. Why does she do this? Scientists aren’t sure. Some think arctic ground squirrels must warm up in case their bodies need to fight off any germs that would make them sick.
