題目列表(包括答案和解析)

When you’re a preteen, a huge problem might be that you just have to have a new rock-rap CD, 1your parents won’t give you the money for it. I thought life was so2when things like this happened-----until September 11, 2001.
I was in P.E. when the planes hit the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. As soon as I got home and for weeks before, I saw the disaster3on TV. Seeing the innocent people running for their4as the debris(瓦礫) started coming down the fire and smoke rose out of the5brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t help imagining what the people on the6and in the buildings were thinking and going through, not7what was going on. I admired the courage of the firefighters who rushed in and risked their own lives to 8others. It tore my heart apart to watch the9looks on the faces of so many people who didn’t know if their loved ones were dead or alive while10in all the debris.
Then it11me: All my life I had thought mainly of myself. I had it easy in life and had been taking it all for granted.
A feeling of coldness12down my back, and I cried just thinking of the possibility that it could have easily13to my family. My mom or dad could have been killed like that, and I would never, ever see them again. I began to evaluate what a real14in life was.
This disaster15me that awful things can happen to anyone at any time. Now when my mom or dad or sister go somewhere, even if it’s just16the store, I try to remember to tell them that I love them because I know there is a17that I may never tell them that18.
Not getting a new CD is not going to 19my life. I can live with those kinds of problems. But losing someone I love would20make my life miserable.
9/11 showed me just what I am.

My grandmother became a widow in 1970. Shortly after that, we went to the1shelter to pick out a dog to keep her2. Grandma decided on a little dog with a reddish-brown spot above each eye.3these spots, the dog was named Penny.
Grandma and Penny quickly became very4to each other, but that attachment grew much stronger about three years later5Grandma had a stroke(中風). Grandma could no longer6, so when she came home from the hospital, she and Penny were7companions.
After her stroke, it became a real8for Grandma to let Penny in and out because9was at the bottom of a flight of stairs. So a mechanism(機械裝置)using a rope and pulley(滑輪)was 10from the door to a handle at the top of the stairs. Grandma just had to pull the handle to open and close the door. If the store was 11Penny’s favorite dog food, Grandma would make one of us12Penny browned beef with potatoes in it. I can remember 13my grandmother by saying that she loved that dog better than she loved her family.
As the years passed, it was not14for Grandma and Penny to separate each other. If Grandma went to take her nap(打盹), Penny stayed by her side until she15. As Penny aged, she could no longer jump up on the bed, so she 16on the rug (墊子)beside the bed. If Grandma went into the 17, Penny would walk along beside her, wait outside the door and accompany her 18to the bed or chair. Grandma never went anywhere without her 19companion by her side.
The time came when both my grandmother’s and Penny’s 20were failing fast. After fifteen years of loving companionship, Grandma and Penny passed away within a few hours of each other.
