  Mrs Baker’s sister was ill. She had someone to look after her from Monday to Friday, but not at the weekend. So every Friday evening Mrs Baker had to stay with her at home in a town near hers. who urged Lincoln to grow his famous whiskers.
     In the fall of 1860,a beardless Abraham Lincoln was running for President of the United States when he
