How to be a Grown up
1.Be responsible
Most people think of a grownup as someone who takes responsibility for his or her own life. And being responsible shows your parents that you are growing up and can handle more freedom. Here are some suggestions to be a responsible person:
Take care of your own affairs.
Answer for your own actions.
Be trustworthy.
Always use your head.
2. Choose to do the right thing
Some decisions are easy to make, others are more difficult. Choosing to do the right thing is an act of self-respect and responsible decision making. Follow the advice can help you decide what’s right:
Listen to your heart .
Don’t hurt anyone including yourself.
Be fair to others including yourself.

3.Respect yourself
Respecting ourselves helps us make good choice. And making good choices lifts our self-respect . Good self-respect helps every aspect(方面) of our personal and social lives. And makes it a lot easier to get through the hard times. Here are some tips to make you respect yourself:
Be true to yourself and your highest value.
Respect others and treat them right. 
Set goals and work to achieve them.

Hi! I’m Harry. Life used to be kind of difficult for me. The muscles(肌肉) in my arms and legs are weak. I have to be in a wheelchair all day. I can’t use my legs at all, and I’m not too great with my hands. If I drop something it stays dropped until someone picks it up for me. I can’t open doors or switch lights on and off. Carrying everything I need for school is a problem too.
Now things are easier. I have a helping hand. Pete is a golden dog that has been trained to help kids like me. Pete was at dog training school for two years to learn how to do different tasks. I had to be trained too. I had to learn how to give Pete instructions and how to take care of him.
When Pete is working he doesn’t play around. My friends know they are not to pet him or call him when he is working. He can pull my wheelchair and pick up things I drop. Pete carries my books and lunch on his back. He pushes the button on the school lift and opens some kinds of doors. He even knows how to switch lights on.
But best of all, Pete is here when I need a friend.

After this special meeting, I always thought about this kind of holiday. Last month, I had a chance at last to go on such a holiday with some of my schoolmates and we went to London, a place where I had wanted to go since years ago.
As we were still young, we had a group leader who planned things for us and looked after us. After we got to London, we went to stay with different families. I was lucky that my host family(寄宿家庭) was a white couple who had a daughter about my age. They treated me as a daughter of their family during my stay there. They were interested in me and I learnt a lot of things from them, too.
The holiday was filled with activities every day. After breakfast, a local teacher would come to take us in his car. Then we would have classes or go on a sight-seeing trip to different places of interest like the Big Ben, the London Bridge, and the Buckingham Palace. We would go back to our own homes after the activities.
The holiday was a valuable experience for me. I enjoyed every minute of it. Yet, time really flew fast. Three weeks later, we had to leave “home” for Hong Kong.
