If you travel in some area in India, you'll be lucky enough to be waited on by special guides- monkeys.Dressed in waistcoats, these monkeys are always ready to serve you.Hungry, you only need to point to your own stomach and they'll lead you to the nearest restaurant.Thirsty, the monkeys will lead you to a bar.Tired, you put both of your hands behind your head and the monkeys will take you to the nearest hotel.Don't feel puzzled when they put out their hairy hands to you after the service is done. They are just asking for a little money as a tip. After that, they wave their hands as if they are saying goodbye to you.

Believe it or not, the little guides are from the school for monkeys in India, where they were trained for one year to get their "diplomas"(文憑).They are not the only monkey students in the world. Some are being trained as nurses in an American medical college. These monkeys are about to look after patients and help them with housework after school.

A three-year-old monkey named Helen has learned to turn on and off the lights, play a recorder and open doors and windows when he is told to.In the tropical(熱帶) Malaysia where coconut trees reach high up to the sky, monkeys would climb to the top and pick the coconuts as ordered.Once the job is done, they would rash to their master, hoping to get some wild fruits as a reward.

Football is so popular in China.Almost everyone is interested in the sport―the young and the old, boys and girls, and now even the robot.

Last week at Hangzhou Guangming Middle School, kids from several schools played football with their robots.

Robot football is very different from human football.Only two robots play in each match. The field is as big as a ping-pong table. One half is black and the other is white. Each robot tries to catch the "football" and push it into the goals. The robot with more goals wins.

Gao Linge, 14, a boy from Guangming Middle School, helped make one of the robots for the match.

"My school bought the main board(主板) ," said Gao."Then I decided what my robot looked like and made a computer programme for it."

Gao's robot was 8 cm tall and had two arms.It had four sensors(感應(yīng)器) to "see" and "kick" the football.

Ying Xuehai, a 12-year-old student from Gao's school, also made a robot. His robot played against Gao's.The match decided who would go to the final game.Ying lost the game.So he gave many of his robot's parts to Gao.

Even with the help, Gao's robot didn't win the final. It played well in the first five minutes. Then it slowed down.At the end of the match, it could hardly move.

What was wrong?

Gao and Ying found the problem.Their robot ran out of power!

There is plenty of beauty in Shanghai.Even though there are a lot of people and cars and trucks and pollution, the city is great! For example, I love many of the modem skyscrapers(摩天大樓).I also love the old temples, and the wonderful tree-lined streets.

But some people in Shanghai just don't stop to think about how beautiful their city is and how they can help to keep it that way.Or maybe they just don't care.

There are a lot of litterbugs in Shanghai. They throw their rubbish everywhere.I'm talking about people of all ages-old people, middle-aged people, high school and middle school students. Why don't they just find a rubbish bin since there are many on every street?

If you want to turn a place that is very beautiful into something that is just very ugly, just cover it with rubbish.A pleasant tree-lined street can look like a garbage dump(垃圾場) at once.

What should we do with people who litter? I hope when we catch them doing it, we bring them to the center of the city, and throw the things they have dropped at them! Perhaps that would make them stop and think before they litter again.

I do have a small tip for China's middle school students.Next time you are about to throw something on the ground, stop and think about how beautiful your city is.Then find a rubbish bin and pretend you're Yao Ming - dunk(扣籃) the rubbish into the basket and score 2 point for the environment!

D.Here are so many rubbish bins on every street that people can't stand them.

68.The phrase "pretend you're Yao Ming" means
