Computers are very important to modern life. Many people think that in the future computers will be used in lots of everyday life. It is thought that we won’t have to go shopping because we will be able to get most things which are sold in shops on the Internet. There will be no more books because we will be able to get all texts from computers. The Internet will be used to play games, see films and buy food. Most telephone calls will be made by computers, too.
Some people are glad about these new ways of shopping and communicating. Others do not think that computers will replace our old ways.
Let’s look at books, for example. Some people think that one day we will not read books made of paper. Instead, we will buy and read books using computers. We will read texts on small pocket computers. The computers will keep many different books in them at the same time. We won’t need to turn lots of pages and paper will be saved. Computerized(計(jì)算機(jī)化) books will be used more and more.
Is Internet shopping such a pleasure as going to the shop? Many people say it is not. It is a pleasure to go into shops and look at things you want to buy. It is also unlikely that many people will want to read large texts on our computers. Because paper books will perhaps be more friendly. Maybe computers won’t change these two habits.
In paragraph(段落)1 it is thought people will use computers for _______.
A. playing games, shopping and making telephone calls
B. making telephone calls, having meals and seeing films
C. seeing films, buying food, and going for holidays
D. playing games, making telephone calls and seeing the doctor
Which reason for using computerized books is NOT said in the passage?
A. Computerized books won’t be very expensive.
B. Computers can keep many different books in them.
C. We won’t have lots of pages.
D. We won’t need any paper.
Paragraph 4 tells _______.
A. about the old and new ways of shopping and communicating
B. if the Internet will change our habits
C. about computerized books
D. about future uses of computers
The title for this passage is _______.
A. Computers will Replace Shops and Books B. Computers will be Used a lot in the Future
C. Computers will Do Everything for Man D. How Computers Change Our Habits
According to the writer’s view, which is right?
A. Computers will replace everything completely in our daily life in the future.
B. Computers will not be used at all in our daily life in the future.
C. Computers will not be used in shopping in the future.
D. Computers will bring more and wider usage in our daily life in the future.

閱讀下面的短文,然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。
Why is it that we tend to value relationships more once they've ended? Is it simply human nature to take for granted the smile of someone close, the friendship of a relative, the concern of a neighbor? In the moment,we think that these people will be around forever.
Most of us never stop to imagine all those who have a profound impact on our lives. It’s so easy to justify this casual attitude by saying we are too busy, too tired, too involved with work, too concerned about money, and the list of excuses goes on and on. So enjoying a friendship may be put off for one day, and then another. Before long, feelings have faded, and there is less incentive to get together. Almost relegated to a chore now, precious moments become something to endure.
Usually, something dramatic must happen to change this apathy and pull one out of a rut. Perhaps it’s something shocking, like a death,a divorce, sudden illness,an accident — something stunning to force taking notice. Then comes the guilt, the re-assessment of feelings, the sadness of loss.
We long to have those precious moments once again,to share and express our feelings. Instead of waiting for an excuse, why not get out of the rut, take the initiative, and spend quality time with the people you value. Let them know how really important they are.

Not all memories are sweet. Some people spend all their lives trying to forget bad experiences .Violence and traffic accidents can leave people with terrible physical and emotional scars . Often they relive (重新體驗(yàn)) these experiences in nightmares .

In November, experts tested a drug on people in the US and France. The drug stops the body releasing chemicals that fix memories in the brain . So far the research has suggested that only the emotional effects of memories may be reduced , not that the memories are eased .

They say that there are many people who suffer from terrible memories . “Some memories can ruin people’s lives . They come back to you when you don’t want to have them in a daydream or nightmare . They usually come with very painful emotions ,” said Roger Pitman , a professor of psychiatry (精神病學(xué)) at Harvard Medical School. “This could relieve a lot of that suffering .”

I’m not sure we’d want to wipe those memories out.” said Rebecca Dresser , a medical ethicist (倫理學(xué)家).
Some people fear that although the drug would first be used in only very serious cases , it would become more and more common . “People always have the ability to misuse science,” said Joeph Le Doux, a New York University memory researcher . “All we want to do is help people have better control of memories .”
