The Spring Festival is approaching and many students want to go travelling. But I had made up my mind not to go anywhere. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, as senior three student, I have to work hardly to be admitted to my dream university. What’s more, I’d like to do some houseworks so that my parents can have a better rest. Meanwhile, during every holiday, there are so much tourists in almost every scenic spot that it is difficult to admire for the beautiful scenery and enjoy myself. Beside, there is a long holiday waits for me after the Gaokao. And they can travel anywhere I like then.

故had →have.

故as后加a.

hardly→ hard

故better →good.

many修飾名詞復(fù)數(shù)tourists。 故much →many.

故去掉for.

Beside →Besides.

waits →waiting.

they →I.

Last weekend, I went to visit my English teacher, who was already in his fifty. He gives me a lot of help when I was a junior middle school student. Delighting to see me, he asked my senior middle school life. Then he advised me to make fully preparations for the coming entrance examination. It was so a pleasure to see him again that I didn’t notice it was pretty later. I had to say goodbye to each other.

He is not only a good teacher but my close friend. Wherever I will go, I will always treasure a lime that I spent with my teacher.

My dream school starts at 8: 30 a. m. and ends at 3:30 p. m. They are three lessons in the morning and two in the afternoon. We didn’t need to do so many homework. Therefore, we have more time with afterschool activities. For example, we can do reading for one and a half hour and play sports for one hour every day.

My dream school look like a big garden. There are all kinds of the flowers and trees around the classroom buildings. We can lie on the grass for a rest, or sat by the lake listening music. The teachers here are kind and helpfully. They are not only our teachers but also our friends.

Amazing Movies

Are you looking for some movies? You've landed on the right place. Let's take a look at the list I've collected.

A Beautiful Mind

A Beautiful Mind is the story of John Nash, a mathematician who went on to win the Nobel Prize for his Game Theory. This movie brings his whole journey on screen—from his beginning to his downhill ride.

The first half is all about his rise to fame while the second half shows how he slowly falls into madness. After many years of fighting, he finally is victorious.

I. Q.

The story is about an auto mechanic who falls for Albert Einstein's niece. The only problem is that she is engaged (訂婚) to someone else. Fortunately, Einstein likes him. He pretends to be a physicist to run after her, but things don't go as he'd planned.

If A Beautiful Mind was alittle too heavy for you, I.Q. would be the perfect fit. It's a light-drama that is funny and heartwarming for the most part.

Good Will Hunting

Good Will Hunting is a touching tale of a troubled young man called Will Hunting who is gifted with a natural talent in mathematics.

However, he is struggling to find his identity. He can solve any math problem, but not the one he seems to be struggling with in his life. His life seems to be getting only worse until one day he meets Sean, a therapist, who helps him find direction in life.

Creation

Creation is a story of famous scientist, Charles Darwin, best known for his evolution theories. This movie attempts to bring his struggling days into focus; the time when he was dealing with the loss of his daughter and was suffering from hallucinations (幻覺). At the same time, he was working on a book called On the Origins of Species, which he finally completed.

All in all, Creation is a great historical drama.

2Which two characters are experts in mathematics according to the passage?

Years ago parents worried their children would learn the truth about Santa Claus(圣誕老人)from others, but now they have a new problem—the Internet.

A recent study from Hide My Ass! Shows 1 in 8 American parents said the Internet told their children the truth about Santa Claus. 44% of parents thought Google was a danger to this Christmas story, as children searched for Santa and found pages explaining he is not real. About 34 percent of children questioned Santa Claus after seeing ads online for gifts they had asked for in their letters to the North Pole (北極). Sadly, one in three children said their Christmas spirit was dead after reading a post saying Santa wasn’t real.

Before the Internet, the only way children found out their parents bought their gifts was if they were in a bad hiding place. Today, two-thirds of parents never clear their browser (瀏覽器) history, making it easy for kids to find out the gifts under the tree weren't put there by a happy man and his little helpers.

To keep Mr. Claus alive, “Keep Believing in Santa”, an organization created by Hide My Ass!, helps kids believe in Santa. Parents receive free software from the organization that monitors all online search results and web pages that could tell kids the truth about the man who lives in the North Pole, by hiding any information that may suggest he doesn't exist.

However, there is still a higher possibility of the Internet now being the main cause of a child's belief in Santa ending, and it can also result in kids finding out sooner than for those born before the digital age.

'With this organization, we wanted to give parents a new tool that would allow them to keep the magic of Christmas and the mystery of Santa for that little bit longer,” Cian Mckenna-Charley, marketing director at Hide My Ass!.

1What does the underlined word “questioned” in paragraph 2 mean?

A. doubtedB. described

2“Keep Believing in Santa" is created to .

A. make Santa Claus as real a man as possible

B. help parents keep the mystery of Santa Claus

C. tell stories about Santa Claus for younger kids

D. stop children from surfing the Internet too much

3Which statement does Cian Mckenna-Charley probably agree with?

A. Parents must clear their browser history.

B. Santa Claus always lives in the North Pole.

C. Christmas spirit can be kept a little bit longer.

D. Gifts are put by Santa under the Christmas tree.

4What is the main idea of the text?

A. Christmas is boring without Santa Claus.

B. Parents make efforts to protect Santa Claus.

C. The Internet is a new danger to Santa Claus.

D. Many children find the secret of Santa Claus

Like many young people, Tony Chou, a 25-year-old software engineer in Shanghai, never used to read much. He barely cracked a book in college and would read one or two a year on vacation, at most. But in the past year, he’s finished 10 books. He listens to audio in pieces throughout the day on his iPhone during his morning workout, on his 20-minute-trip to work, and while he’s cooking dinner or cleaning up. Before he falls asleep, he switches to an e-book of the same story on his Kindle, and starts reading right where the narrator left off.
