【題目】 Finding time to do both homework and exercise is getting easier for students at a growing number of schools. Workout machines are appearing in many school libraries. The latest school to fix the Fit Desk Bike Desk is Troy University, which now has a total of six in the libraries. Over the past three years the Bike Desks have also been fixed at four other universities.

The idea of pushing "active workplaces" is far from new. From standing offices to treadmill (跑步機)meetings, companies have been exploring the benefits of getting employees up from their desks-benefits that include higher morale (士氣)and improved work performance. And a recent study that focuses on younger children suggests a strong connection between physical activities and good grades.

Chris Shaffer who is director of library services at Troy University, says he thought it would be worth experimenting with the machines. "The final goal is to make the library a welcoming place that our students want to visit", says Shaffer "If we can find a way to let our students study and become healthier at the same time, then I am all for it. " He says the experiment is so successful so far that the university has ordered three additional Bike Desks.

Troy junior Niquette says the bikes have been in use every day he has visited the library. "Keeping a proper diet and exercise schedule during college is near impossible, "he says, "These offer a special way to study and I hope the university continues to add more." Senior Raven hasn't used the Bike Desks yet but says she wishes they'd been fixed sooner. 【題目】閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)所給情節(jié)進行續(xù)寫,使之構(gòu)成一個完整的故事。

On my way home, I found a wallet which contained only three dollars and a letter that looked as if it had been in there for years. The envelope was worn and the only thing that was clear to read on it with the return address. The letter was written almost 60 years ago, which told Michael, the recipient(收信人), that the writer could not see him anymore because her mother forbade it. Even so, she would always love him. It was signed “Hannah.”

I called information in the hope that the operator could find a phone listing for the address on the envelope. The operator helped me find the woman who bought Hannah’s parents’ house 30 years ago. She remembered that Hannah had to place her mother in a nursing home several years ago.

I called the nursing home. A man told me the old lady had passed away but Hannah was staying with them. Even though it was late at night, I asked if I could come by to see her. “Well,” the man said hesitatingly, “if you want to take a chance, she might be in the day room watching television.”

I drove over, and the night nurse and a guard greeted me at the gate. Accompanied by the nurse, I went up to the 3rd floor. In the day room, the nurse introduced me to Hannah.

I told her about finding the wallet and showed her the letter. The second she saw the envelope, she took a deep breath and said, “Young man, this letter was the last contact I ever had with Michael. I love him very much. But my mother felt I was too young. Michael Goldstein was a wonderful person. If you should find him,” she hesitated, almost biting her lip, “tell him I still love him. You know, I never did marry…”

I said good night to Hannah. At the gate, the guard asked, “Was the old lady able to help you?” I told him she had given me a last name which might help me find the owner of the wallet.

【題目】Robot are about to enter our lives. From doing housework, entertaining and educating our children, to looking after the elderly, scientists say we will soon be welcoming robots into our homes and workplaces.

Researchers believe we are on the cusp (過渡點) of a robot revolution that will mirror the quick growth of the computer revolution. They are developing new laws for robot behavior, and designing new ways for humans and robots to communicate.

“I think robots will change who we are, just as eyeglasses and fire changed who we were before, says Rodney Brooks, a director of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Some ideas and technologies may sound like science fiction, but they are fast becoming science fact. Robots scientists invented are already beginning to perform everyday tasks like cleaning our floors. The latest types from Japan are able to help the elderly to get out of bed or get up after a fall. They can also remind them when to take medication (藥物), or even help wash their hair.

“Robot now are not human-like. For example they are things like automatic (自動的) beds and wheelchairs,” says Prof Hiroshi Ishiguro at Osaka University, Japan. He believes the time is coming when robots start looking less like machines, and more like us. “In the near future we are going to use more human-like robots. I really think so, says Prof Ishiguro.

Prof Maja Mataric at the University of Southern California agrees. “I’m very excited about the fact that today we are trying to make robots that look like human beings,” she says.

“I believe we love robots because they’re reflections (反映) of ourselves,” says Ken Goldberg, director of the Berkeley Center for New Media at the University of California at Berkeley.

“Robots could be used in education, learning, and healthcare, where social support is important,” says Dr. Cynthia Breazeal, director of the Personal Robots Group at MIT.

Recently I have taken an interest in cook so I suggest that the school organizes a cookinglearning activity to teach students to prepare any delicious food. It can be a great fun and I bet there will be a lot communication going on among students. Besides, it’s a good way to build up team spirit. The school can even held a competition to see whom can cook the most delicious food. More important, I think cooking is a vital skill for people nowadays. What is known to all, eating selfcooked food is a much healthier and little costly way of life than eating in a restaurant.
