【原文】
W: It was a crazy crowd at the baseball game today. Why was everyone so upset?
M: Well, the home team played terribly, and most of the fans paid a lot of money to see that game.
W: I can understand that, I guess, but there were people throwing garbage onto the field and yelling at the players.
M: If you think that’s bad, you should go watch a soccer match in England. Europeans are very aggressive during games. A lot of times, fights break out in the stands.
W: Really? Wow, that seems a little unnecessary. It’s just a game, after all.
M: I agree. I find it unfair to blame it on the athletes. They are all trying their best.

More than 3 years ago I travelled to Britain and stay there for 10 days, and it’s still one of the most wonderful trip I have ever taken. The moment when I arrived in London, I went to the Sherlock Holmes Museum. The museum is modeled in the fictional house in that Sherlock Holmes and John Watson lived. And it also contains reproductions of any famous crime scenes from the stories. I walked around each room carefully as if we had been at a real crime scene and afraid of destroying valuable clues. As crazy fan of Sherlock, I felt extreme interested. Now I’m looking forward to take my next trip there.

【題目】 It’s common knowledge that some countries have higher life expectancies(預(yù)期壽命) than others, but the city you live in can also affect your health.
Some cities are hard on their residents. In places with poor city planning, for example Lagos, which was called out recently by the Economist Intelligence Unit, public spaces are few, making outdoor activities hard. Lack of infrastructure(基礎(chǔ)建設(shè)) blocks the streets with cars and the air with pollutants, and residents work long hours for little money.
These are just some of the factors added up by Spotahome, a rental agency. They’ve analyzed data from a range of sources, including the World Health Organization and TripAdvisor to score each city on health, life expectancies, obesity, green space and other elements to make a list to work out which are the world’s healthiest cities.
The list is certainly Eurocentric and sunshine is seen as a positive factor. It does go some way toward suggesting which cities are getting it right in providing a good life for their residents. It may not be surprising to learn that most of the healthiest cities are in northern Europe, known for its people-first approach to city planning. The cities of Australia and Canada also do well. However, the first American city is only in 34th place. The U.K. doesn’t fare too well either—its only city in the top 50 list is London, in 40th.
Whether you’re planning a pleasant holiday, or simply wondering what your city can do better in its pursuit for happy citizens, the list of the 50 healthiest cities will give you pause for thought about the future of city planning. Here are the slender, healthy-eating, clean-aired cities that are getting it right.
【1】What plays the key role in building a healthy city according to the text?
A.Local culture.B.City planning.C.Economic condition.D.Geographical position.
【2】What does paragraph 3 mainly talk about?
A.How the list of the healthiest cities came into being.
B.What Spotahome discovered in the recent study.
C.The reasons why Spotahome carried out the study.
D.The places where the data of the study came from.
【3】What can we learn from the text?
A.Cities in America lack enough sunshine.
B.The U. K. ranked higher than America in the list.
C.Australia and Canada have the best city planning.
D.Some people in Lagos may live a poor life.

【題目】 Throughout history, music spread among people of different cultures. In today’s technological advanced society, however, people spread music online, sometimes without an artist’s permission. This can lead to many problems, and music companies are now cracking down on this practice. Sharing music online without permission is theft.
Sharing music online prevents recording companies from making money from their efforts. They say that sharing music online has resulted in a huge drop in profits and sales over the past 10 years. People who find music for free online are not paying for CDs or every MP3 downloaded. To truly understand the influence of music piracy (盜版行為) on creators, one must understand how many people are involved in the recording process. For the sale of each album, profits must be shared between musicians, sound engineers, music producers, managers, advertisers, and the company selling the product. Many people believe sharing music only affects the recording artist, but the reality is that sharing hurts business for all companies involved.
There are many people who don’t see the harm in sharing music online and even think they have the right to do it. One online blogger states that he originally paid for an entire CD and that he should be able to do with the material whatever he wants. While he may have legally paid for the music, he does not have the right to provide permission, which means people like the blogger are thieves.
Although we don’t spread today’s music the same way we did before, there’s no doubt that people around the world love to share music. However, internet piracy would prevent musicians from continuing producing albums for fear of theft. Therefore, if people want to continue listening to their favorite artists, they need to buy their music so that artists will make enough profit to continue their music careers.
【1】The underlined phrase “cracking down on” in paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to ___________.
A.bringing up carefullyB.speaking highly of
C.dealing seriously withD.destroying completely
【2】What can we infer from the text?
A.Artists are taking action to protect their right.
B.Sharing music files online affects a lot of people.
C.Online music sharing increases sales of music CD.
D.A person who bought a CD has the right to share it online.
【3】How is the text organized?
A.Topic—Argument—Explanation.
B.Opinion—Discussion—Description.
C.Main idea—Comparison—Supporting statements.
D.Introduction—Supporting statements—Conclusion.
【4】What is the main idea of the text?
A.Music piracy is kind of theft.B.Sharing music is Acceptable.
C.Downloading music should be punished.D.Music piracy is good for music lovers.
