【題目】A mechanical bicycle lock, like a U-lock, should be attached to a solid and immobile object like a rack(架子)to ensure safety. However, these racks are quite rare and popular, thus often occupied and although a bicycle lock prevents the bike from being carried away, as it fixes single parts like the frame or the wheels, other parts can be dismounted. Therefore an electronic system, consisting of several sensors, can extend the range of protection with only few components and less effort.

The ‘RFID Bikealarm’ is a motion sensitive electronic alarm system that is attached to the rails of a bike saddle(座椅). Featuring omnidirectional(全方位)movement sensing to detect tiny movements or speeding-up and a small whistle emitting >120dB alarm sound to scare off potential thieves by arousing attention.

The internal microcontroller uses a complex computer program to distinguish between a serious theft and harmless shaking movement as it senses and adapts to the environment. The usage is quite simple: identify yourself by holding the RFID tag close to the case to lock or unlock the alarm system signaled by feedback sounds. The RFID-technology is predestined for achieving this simple and secure interaction because it doesn’t require any complex system, interaction or other devices—just a small tag.

The ‘RFID Bikcalarm’ is meant to be a useful add-on to mechanical bicycle locks as it massively extends the range of protection with few components. It is low-cost, durable and easy to use. The internal battery can be charged by USB.

【題目】

Emma Morano, the oldest living person celebrated her 117th birthday on November 29, 2016. Friends, neighbors and her doctor joined Morano in her small apartment home in the northern Italian mountain town of Verbania. She blew out three candles on her birthday cake. Each candle represented a number in her age. “I hope I don’t have to cut it,” Morano joked.

“She dressed up and she was very proud,” said her long-time doctor, Carlo Bava. “She posed for a photographer, and even asked if her hair looked good.” “I am happy to turn 117,” Morano told those attending her party. She received a greeting from Italy’s president, Sergio Mattarella. He wished her peace and continued good health. She is thought to be the last living person born in the 1800s. She outlived all her brothers and sisters, including one who died at age 102.

Her doctor noted that when Morano was young, people used to say she was weak and often sick. “Yes, yes,” she said. The world’s oldest person told the Reuters (路透社) news agency that while she is lucky to have lived so long, parts of her life were “not so nice.” She worked in a factory until she retired at age 65. Morano once told a reporter that the first man she planned to marry was killed in World War One. Then, at age 26, she was forced to marry a man she did not love. She said the man threatened to kill her if he did not marry her. She had a son, but the baby died after just six months. She said the marriage was not happy and her husband was abusive (虐待的). She kicked him out in 1938 and has lived alone since then.

Emma Morano says one of her secrets to living long is eating at least two uncooked eggs every day. Her doctor credits Morano’s long life to her unusual diet, her genes (基因) and positive outlook on life.

1According to the text, when did Emma Morano retired from a factory?

A. In 2011 B. In 1925 C. In 1964 D. In 1994

2We can know from the text that _______.

A. Emma Morano’s baby died of her husband’s abuse

B. Emma Morano lived a bitter life in her youth

C. Although Emma Morano often falls sick, she lives the longest life so far

D. Other people’s caring about Emma Morano contributes greatly to her long life

3The underlined word “outlived” in Paragraph 2 is closest in meaning to _______.

A. deserted B. respected C. disliked D. survived

4Which of the following can be the best title of the passage?

A. Secrets to the Longest Life

B. World’s Oldest Person Turns 117

D. Backgrounds of the Oldest Living Person

Dear Li Lei,

I’m proud to tell you what you heard of is true.

As is proved, that some UK primary schools will use 36 math textbooks, exercise books, and teachers’ guides publishing by the Shanghai Century Publishing (SCP). The textbooks will be used in both Shanghai or the UK at a same time. It is the first time Chinese textbooks had been adopted by a developed country in so a systematic and large-scale way. The textbooks have listed as a sample by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics of the UK. Without SCP’s permission, British publisher Harper Collins, the UK publisher of the textbooks, will be responsibly for the promotion of the schoolbooks.

Don’t we take pride in you Chinese?

Yours,

Li Hua
