What do you remember about your childhood? I have good memories of exploring(探測(cè)) the fields near my house and riding my bike around the park. Today, children don’t spend enough time in the fresh air. Many of them fix their eyes on a screen either on a computer, or a TV ---they seem to be living in a virtual world. They have lost touch with nature.
Now 400 organizations in the UK are encouraging children to have some “wild time”. They want kids to exchange at least 30 minutes of watching TV or playing computer games for time playing outside. The simple pleasures of exploring and discovering nature help children to learn and keep fit too. Andy Simpson, who is part of the campaign(倡議活動(dòng)), says: “An extra 30 minutes of wild time every day for all under 12-year-olds in the UK would be the equivalent(同等) of just three months of their childhood spent outdoors.” Even if the kids live in a city, they can go on adventures in the garden or the park. However, children often need a helping hand from Mum and Dad. They need to be shown what to do and where to go.
So despite(盡管) the complex(復(fù)雜的) world that young people grow up in now, it seems that going back to basics and experiencing “nature’s playground ” is what modern children need. Andy Simpson adds: “We want parents to see what this magical “playground” does for their kids’ development , independence and creativity(創(chuàng)造力) , by giving wild time a go ” . David Bond from Project Wild Thing says, “We need to make more space for wild time in children’s daily routine, freeing this generation of kids to have the sort of experiences that many of us took for granted. ”

This weekly four-day physical activity schedule will get your kids excited about being active.
Tuesday
When the kids get home from school, don’t let them go straight to the TV and get settled in. Encourage them to get moving and get off the couch(沙發(fā)) by giving them a pedometer(計(jì)步器). Pedometers are the most fun when parents also use one because that turns stepping, walking and running into a game to see who can get the most steps.
Thursday
The kids have done a great job so far this week, but now they long for a little more TV time. Instead of turning on cartoons, let them watch fitness movies made just for kids. These movies encourage watchers to get up and dance along to kid-friendly music.
Saturday
Get the whole family out of the house together and over to a park. Bring lots of sports equipment, pack a healthy picnic and have a family competitive sports day. Kids and adults get into groups and play against each other in tennis, basketball or soccer. After everyone has played hard for a couple of hours, stop for a picnic and then if your family isn’t too tired, go back and play some more.
Sunday
Every child loves to play video games and there is no better time to allow kids to play them than on Sunday when no homework is due. But don’t let them play a game that forces them to sit down for hours. Dance games with a floor mat(墊子) to help kids follow the dance moves are popular to kids.
1.Parents are advised to use a pedometer together with their kids because _______.
A. they can give their kids some advice about walking
B. it can prevent them from watching TV too much
C. their kids will not use it if they don’t
D. this will allow them and their kids to have a fun competition
2.On Thursday when a kid wants to watch TV, his parents should ______.
A. let him watch it for a short time B. show fitness movies to him
C. take him out for a walk instead D. watch cartoons with him
3.According to the author, the best time for a kid to play video games is ______.

How to Build Your Own Website
Sixty years ago, people asked about your astrological (星座) sign. 1. These days, having a web address is almost as important as a street address. Your website is an electronic meeting place for your family, friends and millions of people around the world. Best of all, you may not have to spend a cent. The web is filled with all kinds of free services and all it takes is some time and creativity.
2.Like the table of contents of a book or magazine, the home page is the front door. Your site can have one or more pages, depending on how you design it.
While web pages vary greatly in their design and content, most use a traditional magazine layout (編排). 3. Next comes a greeting and a short description of the site. Pictures, texts; and links to other websites follow.
Before you start building your site, do some planning. Think about whom the site is for and what you want to say. 4.
Draw a rough layout on a sheet of paper.
While there are no rules you have to follow, there are a few things to keep in mind:
◆5. If you aim too high at the beginning, you may never get the site off the ground. You can always add something new to your site.
◆Less is better. Most people don’t like to read a lot of texts online. Break it into small pieces.
◆Smaller is better. Since it takes a long time to download large picture files, keep the file sizes small.
Now it’s time to roll up your sleeves and start building. Learning the net communities helps provide tools to help you build your site.
A. Start simply.
B. A personal website is not usual today.
C. Nowadays, they want to know your website.
D. Pay attention to the contents of your website.
E. At the top of the page is a banner (橫幅) GRAPHIC.
F. Next, gather up the material you want to put on the site.
G. Think of your home page as the starting point of your website.
