Several American students visited our school. Upon our arrival, we gave a warm welcome to them, among them a boy named Tim was to stay with my family for the weekend. I recognized Tim compared him with photo he had sent to me. Tim greeted me and expressed that excited he felt. When school was over, we took the subway home. My parents prepared a rich family dinner that night and we had enjoyed ourselves so much, eating and chatting. The next day, I acted as a guide, showing Tim along the most famous scenic spot in Beijing. Wherever he went, he had some photos take to help him memorize this unforgettable trip to China. The time to say goodbye came when we realized it. I gave Tim a kite as a souvenir.
1.our(their)
2. them(whom)
3. compared(comparing)
4. with (加the)photo
5. that(how)
6. we had(去掉) enjoyed
7. along(around)
8. spot(spots)
9. take(taken)
10. when(before)
故把our改為their。
因此應(yīng)將among them 改為 among whom,是修飾逗號前them的定語從句。
photo是可數(shù)名詞,應(yīng)加冠詞a/the或變復(fù)數(shù)。
show sb around somewhere意思是帶領(lǐng)sb參觀某處;along指prep.

To forgive is a virtue, but no one has ever said it is easy. When someone has deeply hurt you, it can be extremely difficult to let go of your hate. However, forgiveness is possible, and it can be surprisingly beneficial to your physical and mental health. People who forgive show less sadness, anger and stress and more hopefulness, according to a recent research.
【1】Try the following steps:
Calm yourself.【2】You can take a couple of breaths and think of something that gives you pleasure: a beautiful scene in nature, or someone you love.

【3】Keep in mind that forgiveness does not necessarily mean becoming friends again with the person who upset you.
Take the control away from your offender(冒犯者). Rethinking about you hurt gives power to the person who causes you pain. Instead of focusing on your mounded feelings, learn to look for the love, beauty and kindness around you.
【4】If you understand your offender, you may realize that he or she was acting out of unawareness, fear, and even love. You may want to write a letter to yourself from your offender’s point of view.
Don’t forget to forgive yourself.【5】But it can rob you of your self-confidence if you don’t do it.
A.Why should you forgive?
B.How should you start to forgive?

My writing career began ten years ago with my articles published locally and nationally. As a beginning writer, I was happy to be on my way, writing and learning as much as I could . With two little kids underfoot, as well as working full-time, it was really difficult to make time for writing, but I managed.
Readers told me they laughed, cried or were inspired by my articles. But they didn't know what was really going on behind the typewriter. I was not a happy mommy, and found it difficult to enjoy the everyday little things in life. In short, I was not a happy person.
I realized I had to make some changes. I started walking every morning. It cleared my head, allowed me time to think, gave me fresh air, and made me feel invigorated (精神煥發(fā)) and healthy. I was eating wisely, and the weight started to go. I started a new job, joined a monthly writing chapter, and was determined to keep up my walking. Finding the balance was sometimes difficult. But I was determined to fit in writing time because it made me happy. Sure I loved to watch the news and have my tea, but that wasn't what made me truly happy.
My own happiness has shown through my family, my job performance and my attitude towards challenging situations. I again have readers telling me the effect my writing has had on them, with some able to get on with their own writing because of my articles.

As if there weren’t enough of them in the world already, scientists have succeeded in cloning flies. The alike fruit flies are the first insects ever cloned, says the Canadian team that created them. The question everyone asks is why anyone would want to clone flies in the first place. She hopes that the insects , which are very easy to experiment with , will help to adjust the cloning process in other animals and even in humans, where the technique is being researched to aid production of therapeutic (治療的) stem cells.
In cloning, the DNA-containing nucleus of an adult cell is injected into an egg whose own nucleus(細(xì)胞核) has been removed. At the moment, the majority of cloned mice, sheep and other animals die before birth. It is thought this is because the adult DNA is not properly ‘reprogrammed’.
Using flies, researchers might discover genes that are important for this reprogramming, and that have matches in other animals. That is because it is relatively easy in flies to knock out the function of a single gene and then attempt cloning with these cells, which will test whether that gene is important. If such genes are confirmed, then in theory cloned mammalian embryos(晶胚) might be grown in selected solutions that change the activity of those genes to improve the technique’s success rate. Although some groups have attempted to clone insects before, Lloyd says this is the first time it has been successful. The team used a slight difference on the standard cloning process: they transferred nuclei taken from embryos rather than fully-grown adult cells. They sucked several nuclei (pl)out of developing fly embryos, and injected them into a fertilized(已受精的) fly egg. From over 800 early attempts, they cloned five adult insects, the group reports in the journal Genetics.

B.flies are easy to find and cheap to use
C.they can gain some experience before cloning other animals
D.it is safe to clone flies
【3】The failure of most cloned animals is due to _______.
A.the difference of other animals’ genes
B.the improper technique of clone
C.the complex of other animals
D.the improper rearrange of the adult gene
【4】It can be inferred from the last paragraph that ______.
A.the clone of insects before used grown-up cells
B.the clone of insects were never experimented before
C.this time scientists cloned flies successfully and easily
D.based on this success, other animals will be cloned in large quantities.
