Today, the biggest killers stem as much from our lifestyles as from bacteria and viruses.  One of the worst of these is heart disease, and specifically high blood pressure. It’s a slow, but efficient killer that robs many people of what should be the last 10, 20 or 30 years of their lives.

Scientists are claiming that they have now separated unusual ingredients in a rare seaweed discovered by fishermen off the coast of Korea that offer incredible health benefits—including the ability to restore blood pressure to normal levels.

Dr. Haengwoo Lee, a famous biochemist conducted a clinical study on these two ingredients. The first is Seanol, an extremely rare seaweed extract(濃縮物) from Ecklonia Cava that's proven to be 100 times more powerful than any land-based antioxidant(抗氧化劑). That's because it stays working in your body for 12 hours, compared to land-based antioxidants that work for 30 minutes.  "Its secret is its make-up of special chemicals that are a huge 40% fat soluble( 可溶的)," Dr. Lee explains. "Unlike nearly all land-based antioxidants that are water soluble, Seanol's protective compounds can get into things like the fatty tissues of your brain and penetrate(滲透) all three layers of your cells, including the outside, the oil-based cell membranes(細胞膜), and your DNA." Indeed, Seanol is so powerful, it's the only FDA-approved Ecklonia Cava marine-algae (海藻)  extract in existence.

The second ingredient is Calamarine, a deep-sea omega-3 discovery that delivers 85% more DHA omega-3s to your heart, brain, joints, and eyes. It's known to reduce the problems from tiredness and poor memory, joint pain, mood swings and depression.

With that research in mind, Dr. Lee combined Seanol and Calamarine with a high dose of vitamin D to form  Marine-D3, the newest supplement in the fight against age-related illnesses and high blood pressure.

Dr. Lee found that Calamarine delivers some of the greatest concentration of omega-3s known to science. Combined with Seanol's ability to reduce body inflammation(炎癥), as well as help cells get the nutrients they need to thrive, stay healthy and protected, Marine-D3 is able to boost a body's entire well being.

The makers of Marine-D3 are so confident that you'll see fast dramatic results from this product, that if you aren't happy after two full months, simply return the unused portion and they'll buy it back. They'll even give you ten dollars extra just for giving it an honest try! That kind of faith, combined with Dr. Lee's exhaustive research, shows that Marine-D3 really is a one-of-a-kind product.

1.From the first paragraph we can infer that ________.

A. Our lifestyles result from the biggest killers

B. our lifestyles do less harm to our bodies than bacteria and viruses do.

C. High blood pressure left untreated may cause shorter life.

D. Heart disease is incurable.

2.What can we know from paragraph 2 ?

A. Fishermen off the coast of Korea have isolated unusual ingredients.

B. Scientists have purified ingredients that can lower blood pressure to normal standard.

C. Scientists discovered a rare seaweed.

D. Scientists have imagined a medicine that treat blood pressure.

3.Which is right about Seanol ?

A. According to FDA , Seanol reaches the agreed standard.

B. Seanol can be fat soluble entirely.

C. Seanol is a common seaweed extract from Ecklonia Cava .

D. Seanol's protective compounds can get into all things like the fatty tissues of your brain.

4.What do we know about Calamarine?

A. Calamarine is easy to find in the surface of the sea.

B. Calamarine 's ability to reduce body inflammation(炎癥) alone.

C. Calamarine has a low dose of vitamin D and C.

D. Calamarine may relieve you if you feel blue.

5.What’s the makers’ attitude toward Marine-D3?

A. pessimistic        B. indifferent        C. doubtful         D. Optimistic

Some people say that the best way to reduce the size of your waist is to do stomach exercise. Many people believe that when specific muscles are exercised, the fatty tissues (組織) in the immediate area are burned up. The truth is that exercise burns fat from all over the body and not from one specific area. Of course, if you reduce the fat throughout your body, you will certainly see results around your waist too.

Some people believe that you need to exercise twice a week in order to keep a sufficient level of physical fitness. However, studies directed by American scientists show that unexercised muscles lose their strength very quickly. Within 48 to 72 hours, you must use the muscles again to reestablish (重建) the good physical effects. And what does that mean to you? American scientists concluded that while daily exercise is most helpful, exercising every other day or three days a week will keep a sufficient level of physical fitness.

Is it true that you burn more calories running one mile than walking the same distance? The answer is no. The truth is that you use the same amount of energy whether you walk or run the mile, since in both cases you are moving the same weight the same distance. The speed does not matter. Of course, if you run rather than walk for 30 minutes, you will cover more distance, and therefore burn more calories.

If your breathing doesn’t return to normal within 5 minutes after you finish exercising, you have exercised too much. Five minutes or so after exercising, your breathing should be normal, your heart shouldn’t be beating loudly, and you shouldn’t be tired.

1.If you want to reduce the fat around your waist, you should ____.

A.do stomach exercise

B.exercise the waist

C.exercise all the muscles of your body

D.run fast for 30 minutes

2.From the second paragraph, we learn that ____.

A.we only need to exercise twice a week

B.we should exercise three times a week

C.muscles lose their strength after 48 hours

D.we should exercise every other day, or three days a week

3.It can be inferred from the third paragraph that _________ .

A.you will lose more weight running one hour than walking one hour

B.whether you run one mile or walk the same distance, you use the same amount of energy

C.you will lose more weight running one mile than walking the same distance

D.both A and B

4.If you have exercised too much, _______.

A.your breathing will take longer than 5 minutes to return to normal after you finish exercising

B.your breathing will return to normal within 5 minutes after finishing exercising

C.your heart will not be beating loudly

D.you will be too tired to move

5.This passage tells us that _________.

A.it is better to do more running than walking

B.the more exercise you do, the healthier you will be

C.the unexercised muscles must be used again within 48 to 72 hours

D.in order to lose weight, you have to run fast

On Tuesday,,a new study published in the American Heart Association's journal Circulation:Heart
Failure revealed that women who ate five or more dishes of baked fish had a thirty percent lower risk of
heart failure in comparison to women who ate less than one dish a month.

study also found that those women who ate more baked fish were likely to have a lower weight,,exercise more and eat more fruits and vegetables in comparison to those who ate fried fish.
Researchers noted that past research had discovered the fatty acids (脂肪酸)in fish probably
decreased the risk of high blood pressure by improving blood pressure along with heart and blood
functioning. This study showed the link between eating fish and heart failure risk but it was not designed to
show cause and effect.
This study also showed that just by eating one dish of fried fish a week led to a 49% greater risk of
heart failure,,and eating fried fish led to lower fiber (纖維)intake and higher calorie (卡路里)intake.
The American Heart Association suggested eating a minimum of two dishes of fish especailly fatty fish
each week.
