It takes sb.some time to do sth."做某事花費某人多少時間",it充當形式主語.
43.success,考查名詞,表示"一種…感",使用短語a sense of后接名詞.
48.probably,
50.to go,考查動詞不定式,表示"做某事是容易的"使用短語sth.be esay to do,因此答案為動詞不定式to go.

7.Delicious Culture
Cultural identity is what helps a nation,an area or a social group to distinguish itself from others.Across the globe and throughout human history,the land and climate have made groups of people develop their own food preferences,(25)whichhave become their traditional cuisines (美食) and their diversified lifestyles.However,this kind of food identity is fading slowly due to changes in the way we live today.
(26)What food is available is no longer decided by geography.As the world shrinks,our area's preferences will surely become more similar to (27)those of the rest of the world.As international food industry consultant Chris Lukehurst told The Guardian,you'll see Italian teens ignoring their local wine in favor of American-style beer.And while coffee and potato chips were"almost unknown"in China a decade ago,they are now becoming popular here.
However,(28)to win (win)as many customers as possible,multinational companies change their products a little for each market.Take fast food (29)for example.In China,both McDonald's and KFC include much more salad in their meals to help provide the three food groups necessary in every meal:grains,protein and vegetables.They also offer rice porridge,soy milk drinks and youtiao,or fried dough sticks,in breakfast menus to suit local customers.
(30)Although only a certain culinary (烹飪的) sign of culture is fading,UNESCO has decided to safeguard the world's food-related cultural heritage (遺產).In 2008,cuisines from specific cultures (31)were included (include) in its List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (非物質文化遺產).
Now,let's take a food journey across the world to understand (32)why we often say that you are what you eat,or you are what your ancestors ate.

12.Canadian scientists have found a method to help aging people get less forgetful by improving their cognitive(認知)abilities through well-designed training.Everyone experiences some degree of memory loss and cognitive decline as they get older. The decline usually becomes noticeable after 50,when people may find it slightly more difficult to focus on tasks, organize everyday jobs and remember how to do things in the right order.
A team of psychologists in Toronto created a strategy of cognitive training to help people preserve these abilities."Our primary emphasis was on improving the use of general strategic abilities because they are particularly weak to the aging process,"Dr.Donald Stuss, director of the study, said in a press release. The team examined 49 healthy older adults with normal cognitive decline. All of the participants were between the ages of 71 and 87.Over the course of 12 weeks, psychologists taught them methods to improve their strategic abilities.Afterwards, researchers saw a 15 to 40 percent improvement in the memories of all participants."Over a period of six months their improvement not only maintained, but increased,"said Dr.Gordon Winocur, coordinator of the study. The 12-week course was broken up into three four-week sections, focusing on a different skill involved in strategic abilities:memory, goal management and psychosocial function.
The memory training emphasized how to preserve and recover information, while goal management focused on methods to lower the chance of memory slips.Psychosocial training was aimed at increasing the participants'confidence in their mental abilities.
"We wanted to develop a cognitive training program that would produce improvement over a relatively short period of time,so participants could benefit more on that while they're still functional and slow down the rate of decline,"said Winocur."If we can work with people in the early stages of cognitive decline, then we can slow down the rate of this decline and help them maintain a higher level of function for a longer period of time."
