The leader of the school said the idea of a stress wall started when footprints were found on some newly painted walls and some school windows were broken.

“Tests and homework make me sad,” said a junior girl,“I can’t wait to hit the wall.It will help me a lot with my problems.” However, another girl student who wouldn’t give her name said,” The wall won’t help because it can’t talk,” and she added,” I need to talk to someone when I’m sad.”

Guide for Teenagers
The teenage years can be tough, and it’s normal to feel sad every now and then. But if these feelings don’t go away or become so intense that you can’t handle them, you may be suffering from depression. 1..
Try not to isolate yourself
When you’re depressed, you may not feel like seeing anybody or doing anything. Just getting out of bed in the morning can be difficult, but isolating yourself only makes depression worse. 2.. Spend time with friends, especially those who are active.
Keep your body healthy
Making healthy lifestyle choices can do wonders for your mood. Ever heard of a "runners high"? Physical activity can be as effective as medications for depression, so get involved in sports, ride your bike, or take a dance class. Any activity helps! 3..As for food, make sure you’re feeding your mind with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Avoid alcohol and drugs.
You maybe try drinking or use drugs in an effort to escape from your feelings and get a "mood boost," even if just for a short time. However, substance use can not only make depression worse, but can cause you to become more depressed. 4.. You will need special treatment for your substance problem.
5..
Stress and worry can lead to depression. Talk to a teacher if exams or classes seem overwhelming. In addition, if you have a health concern you feel you can’t talk to your parents about, see a doctor. A health professional can help you approach your parents and guide you toward appropriate treatment. If you’re dealing with relationship, friendship, or family problems, talk to an adult you trust.
A. Ask for help if you are stressed.
B. Even a short walk can be beneficial.
C. Turn to your parents for help.
D. As you get out into the world, you may find yourself feeling better.
E. In short, drinking and taking drugs will make you feel worse--not better--in the long run.
F. The more exercise you do, the healthier you will be.
G. Help is available and you have more power than you think.

A long time before I was born, my grandma and grandpa had a young family of four little girls. During the Great Depression (大蕭條時期), work was hard to find, so Grandpa did whatever jobs he could. On weekends he and Grandma dug a garden to grow some of their own food.
Everybody worked to keep the garden growing. All summer long, the family ate food and enjoyed flowers from the garden. Grandma put up strawberry jam, tomatoes, beans, peppers, pears and peaches in canning jars. They were good to eat through the long winter.
The family grew up, and grandparents grew old. It became hard to keep up the garden, so they made it a little smaller. There was still plenty to eat from the garden and lovely flowers to enjoy.
Then one summer when Grandpa was eighty-nine years old, all he could do was watch from his lawn chair as the vegetables grew and the roses bloomed. Summer slowly faded, and Grandpa died before it was time to bring in the harvest.
It was a lonely winter for Grandma. She sat near the window, looking out at the yard and wondering if she could plant a garden in the spring. When spring came, she planted only a little garden.
One sunny day in the early summer, Grandma heard a commotion (騷動) in the front yard and looked out the window to see a frightening sight. A huge swarm of bees filled the air between two tall trees. The buzzing sound was very loud.
The bees made their way into a hole up in one of the trees. Before long, every one of those bees had disappeared into its new home. During the next few days, the bees were busy minding their own business. Grandma could always see a few bees buzzing in and out around the opening high in the tree. Before long, she decided the bees weren’t bothering anyone, so she didn’t give them another thought.
That summer, Grandma’s little garden grew and grew. The neighbors would stop to admire the huge crop of vegetables and puzzle over their own gardens weren’t doing well.
One day, Grandma’s brother Frank visited from Arizona. As Grandma made Frank a delicious lunch of squash cakes and homemade applesauce, she told him the story about the swarm of bees. Frank said, “In Arizona, the farmers often hired beekeepers to set up beehives near their fields. The bees pollinated (授粉) the crops and helped them to grow.”
That was when Grandma realized that her bees had helped with her garden all summer. “So that’s why my little garden had such a big crop!” she exclaimed.
From that time on, Grandma always believed that since Grandpa couldn’t be there to help her that summer, he had sent the bees to take his place and make Grandma’s little garden grow and grow.
1.According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true?
A. The garden was dug by Grandparents during the Great Depression.
B. The garden provided enough food and flowers for the family.
C. The garden was made smaller as Grandparents grew older.
D. The garden once lay in waste after Grandpa passed away.
2.It can be inferred from the passage that __________.
A. Grandma was too busy to hire someone to deal with the bees.
B. Grandma felt very lonely and helpless when Grandpa passed away.
C. Frank hired beekeepers to help Grandma keep the garden growing.
D. Grandpa turned into bees to help Grandma keep up the garden.
3.The method the author uses in the underlined sentence is _______.
A. offering analyses B. providing explanations
C. making comparison D. giving examples
4.Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. Grandpa’s Bees B. Grandparents’ Garden
C. The Harvest of Summer D. The Secret of the Garden

I am an English dictionary. I can still remember the day my ex-owner bought me. He had stood in front of the shelf for around half an hour before finally picking me. Originally, he chose my neighbor. But because she had some ink on the cover, he put her down and chose me instead.
I may sound arrogant (傲慢的) . But please forgive me. I am so proud of my vocabulary. With 100,000 entries and 300,000 examples, I think no scholar can be more knowledgeable than me. My only weakness is that I can’t speak. But that is not my fault. I was not designed to speak in the first place. My ex-owner was supposed to read the phonetic symbols (音標) clearly printed beside each word, which were also my selling point. I should have been respected but have ended up lying next to a piece of used toilet paper inside the rubbish bin.
It is all because of the electronic dictionary. He is the bad guy because he takes advantage of my one weakness. And I just don’t understand why he can be so slim. He also has about 100,000entries but 450,000 examples! But I know this was not the reason why my ex-owner was attracted, for he was not a very diligent (勤奮的) student and seldom read the examples listed. The main reason was that the bad guy had so many games in him. My ex-owner always pretended to be working hard while actually he was playing games.
My ex-owner put me on his bookshelf because of my awesome English name “Advanced English Dictionary”. He wanted people to think that he was an advanced learner. I wanted to tell him that it would be better if he hid the comic books standing next to me. But, you know, I can’t speak. I stood there for years. I was so bored. So I talked to the comic book next to me. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t have talked to him because I was educated and he was not. But who else could I choose? He told me that my ex-owner had read him once only and then put him there. I was upset because he had never read me from page one to page 1,000. Was I not a better book than the comic book? I wanted to challenge his honesty but before I did so, he was thrown away.
I give up. My pages are absorbing waste water. There is no way people will use me again. Suddenly, I want to talk to the comic book. Would he talk to me if we met?
1.Why does the dictionary think that the electronic dictionary is the “bad guy”?
A. I t contains more words and examples.
B. It can actually pronounce the words.
C. It has a smaller size.
D. It has many games.
2.The dictionary thinks that its ex-owner put it on the bookshelf because he ______.
A. thought that it could match the comic books
B. wanted his friends to study English
C. just wanted to show off
D. had to use it sometimes
3.What was the dictionary’s attitude toward the comic book standing next to it?
A. It wanted to make friends with him.
B. It respected him.
C. It envied him.
D. It hated him.
4.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A. A Dictionary Is Replaced with an Electronic One
B. Students Seldom Use Dictionaries
C. A Dictionary and a Comic Book
D. The Experience of a Dictionary
