Taking parts in recreation activities help us keep fit. There are different kinds of activity in our daily life, for example, listening to music, watching TV, playing chess, or going to cinema. But I think we'd better to have more outdoor activities. As students, we usually sit too longer in the classroom, and as a result our eyes and brains getting tired. But it is a good idea to play ball games, go swimming, do some runnings, or even go for a picnic. Our brains also need changes to make itself smart and active. In a word, exercise is good for health.

【答案】①parts→part ; ②help→helps ; ③activity→activities; ④cinema前加the; ⑤to have→have; ⑥longer→long; ⑦getting→get ; ⑧But→So ; ⑨runnings→running; ⑩itself→themselves

take part in固定短語(yǔ),”參加“。

故把a(bǔ)ctivity改為activities 。

go to the cinema固定短語(yǔ),”去看電影“。 因此to后面加the

had better do sth固定短語(yǔ),”最好做某事“;had better的后面直接加動(dòng)詞原形,不需要to。

本句轉(zhuǎn)換主語(yǔ)是our eyes and brains,get在句中做謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞,而getting屬于非謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞,不能單獨(dú)在句中作謂語(yǔ)。

故把But改為So。

do some running固定短語(yǔ),”跑步“,故把runnings改為running 。

本句的主語(yǔ)是our brains,所以使用反身代詞themselves作為動(dòng)詞make賓語(yǔ)。

With the development of modem technology, there are plenty ways for us to contact people. One of our most favorite ways is probably WeChat. The main reason may be because it is very convenient to use with the popularity of the smart phone. We can contact friends whenever it is but wherever we are. We like using WeChat also because it is very cheap. It costs only a little and is even free unless Wi-Fi is available. Another advantage lies in the speed with which messages get sent and received. It's so fast that we can get in touch with others instantly. More importantly, using WeChat, we can give friends not only very exact written informations but also very moving greeting words, that we might not say face to face. Besides, music as well as pictures and videos are often uploaded through WeChat, so it is now a useful entertainment tool.
In a word, using WeChat is a good choice for you to keep in contact with friends.

Girls should take part in competitive sport to build confidence, the leader of a group of girls’schools will argue this week. Helen Fraser, director of the Girls Day School Trust (GDST), will tell the group that sport can help girls cope with failure.

“All girls and not just the sporty ones should take physical exercise”, Ms Fraser will say. Research that girls are far less active than boys is worrying, she argues. Ms Fraser will tell the group that she backs “sport for all”. “That’s why I love it when our schools have A, B, C and D teams and beyond”, she will say.

The GDST draws on research from the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation which suggests only a quarter of girls in England meet basic levels(水平)of activity each week. One in five girls do no activity at all, twice the proportion (比例)of boys, the research suggests.

Ms Fraser says other research suggests that more than 80% of women business leaders played sports while growing up. She uses the examples of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, once a skater and tennis player, while the head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, was in the French national swimming team. Ms Fraser says Olympic medallists like Jessica Ennis, Katherine Grainger and Nicola Adams are excellent role models for young women but says women’s sport needs more money and more news reports.

Valerie Dunsford, head of Sheffield High School, part of GDST, said it was important to offer a large number of sports to attract different types of girls. “Not everyone wants to be out playing the hockey (曲棍球)”, said Ms Dunsford.

1Which of the following ideas would Ms Fraser agree with?

A. Those taking part in the sport are always failures.

B. More should be done to make girls do sports.

C. Girls are less confident than boys.

D. Boys are born to be sport lovers.

2What’s the proportion of boys who never take exercise?

A. 1/10. B. 1/4.

C. 1/5. D. 2/5.

3Ms Fraser mentions those famous women to show ________

A. hard work will pay off.

B. it’s not easy to be great.

C. sport can help girls to succeed.

D. it’s necessary to balance work and sport.

4What’s the purpose of the text?

A. To explain the key to success.

B. To show the importance of sport.

C. To introduce more games to girls.

D. To encourage more girls to do sports.

This Way to Dreamland

Daydreaming means people think about something pleasant, especially when this makes them forget what they should be doing. Daydreamers have a bad reputation for not realizing what's happening around them. They can seem forgetful and clumsy(笨拙的). 1 They upsets us because they seem to be ignoring us and missing the important things..

But daydreamers are also responsible for some of the greatest ideas and achievements in human history. Without wandering minds, we wouldn't have relativity(相對(duì)論), Coke or Post-it notes. 2.

So how can you come up with wonderful daydreams and avoid falling over tree roots or otherwise looking like a fool?

First, understand that some opportunities for daydreaming are better than others. Feeling safe and relaxed will help you to slip into daydreams. 3 And if you want to improve your chances of having a creative idea while you're daydreaming, try to do it while you are involved(參與) in another task—preferably something simple, like taking a shower or walking, or even making meaningless drawings.

It's also important to know how to avoid daydreams for those times when you really need to concentrate. “Mindfulness”, being focused, is a tool that some people use to avoid falling asleep. 4

Finally, you never know what wonderful idea might strike while your mind has moved slowly away. 5

Always remember that your best ideas might come when your head is actually in the clouds.

A.It includes slow, steady(平穩(wěn)的) breathing for self-control that helps people stay calm and attentive.

B. Therefore, it's a good idea to keep a notebook or voice recorder nearby when you're in the daydream zone.

C. At one time, daydreaming was thought to be a cause of some mental illnesses.

D. Can you imagine what kind of world we would have without such ideas and inventions?

E. Daydreams are often very simple and direct, quite unlike sleep dreams, which may be hard to understand.

F. They stare off into space and wander(閑逛) by themselves.

G. Having interesting things to think about also helps.

Self-driving vehicles will rely on cameras, sensors and artificial intelligence(AI)to recognize and respond to road and traffic conditions, but sensing is the most effective for objects and movement in the neighborhood of the vehicle. Not everything important in a car's environment will be caught by the vehicle's camera. Another vehicle approaching at high speed on a collision (碰撞)track might not be visible until it's too late. This is why vehicle-to-vehicle communication is undergoing rapid development. Our research shows that cars will need to be able to chat and cooperate on the road, although the technical challenges are considerable.
Applications for vehicle-to-vehicle communication range from vehicles driving together in a row, to safety messages about nearby emergency vehicles. Vehicles could alert each other to avoid collisions or share notices about passers-by and bicycles.
From as far as several hundred metres away, vehicles could exchange messages with one another or receive information from roadside units(RSUs)about nearby incidents or dangerous road conditions through 4G network A high level of A1 seems required for such vehicles, not only to self-drive from A to B, but also to react intelligently to messages received. Vehicles will need to plan, reason, strategize and adapt in the light of information received in real time and to carry out cooperative behaviours. For example, a group of autonomous vehicles might avoid a route together because of potential risks, or a vehicle could decide to drop someone off earlier due to messages received, a foreseen crowding ahead.
Further applications of vehicle-to-vehicle communication are still being researched, including how to perform cooperative behaviour.
(1)What is the first paragraph mainly about?
A.The reasons for the accidents by self-driving vehicles.
B.The research about applications for self-driving vehicles.
C.The importance of artificial intelligence of self-driving vehicles.
D.The reasons for developing communication between self-driving vehicles.
(2)What does the underlined word “alert” mean in Paragraph 2?
A.Alarm.
B.Condemn.
C.Ignore.
D.Govern.
(3)What can we learn about roadside units (RSUs)?
A.They classify the vehicles on the road.
B.They can improve bad road conditions.
C.They take over the passing vehicles.
D.They serve as efficient information stations.
(4)What is the best title for the text?
A.When do vehicles communicate?
B.The reasons why a high level of AI is important
C.Vehicle-to-vehicle communication is coming
D.What do applications for vehicle-to-vehicle communication need?
