【題目】 Earlier this year, artist Malik was about to post a selfie (自拍照)from the Brooklyn Bridge when he had the second thought. He wanted to share something different with his friends and the world.

Malik thought that the social media (媒體)had become impersonal and he wanted to connect with people in a more meaningful way. Therefore, the Reading Project was born. He began leaving piles of his books in famous New York City locations with a card containing simple instructions put inside each one: take a book, read it and share your thoughts with the artist by email.

The piles of books themselves can be seen as works of art, and so is the process (過程)of sharing. Unlike many of the things we share today, he likes to keep the project off social media. To keep the project pure (純的),he doesn’t even turn around as he walks away once he has left a pile of books. When he has left them behind, he prefers email to be the only way that he learns what happens to them. The project has now taken him — and his books — all over the world, including London.

“I hope people pick them up and I also hope they read them and let me know their feelings on them. And even if they don't let me know, I just hope they will read the books,” Malik said.

He has received thousands of messages from people in more than 30 countries all over the world. For Malik, kooks are meaningless and lifeless if they gather dust(灰塵)on a shelf and are never read again. He intends to carry on with the project for some time, with a plan to visit Brazil and then decides whether he will continue it or not.

Most of all, lie loves the connection the books give him with strangers across the world which is something that oilier posts could never achieve,

He wanted to share something different with his friends and the world (他想與他的朋友和世界分享一些不同的東西 "和第二段中的"Therefore the Reading Project was born(于是,閱讀計劃誕生了) "可知,Malik不想分享自己的自拍,而是想分享一些不一樣的東西。故選D。

2推理判斷題。根據(jù)第三段中的"Unlike many of the things we share todayhe likes to keep the project off social media. To keep the project pure.. (與我們今天分享的許多東西不同,他喜歡不讓這個項目出現(xiàn)在社交媒體上,保持項目的純粹性…"。由此判斷出,他要求人們用電子郵件跟他聯(lián)系,是因為他不想被社交媒體打擾。故選C。

3推理判斷題。根據(jù)第二段中的"he wanted to connect with people in a more meaningful way (他想以-種更有意義的方式與人們聯(lián)系) "和最后一段Most of all he loves the connection the books give him to strangers across the world, something other posts could never achieve.

As ever, the Summer Movie Season is full of series and special effects. But if you’re prepared to look for them, you’ll find some smaller, odder films flying beneath the radar.

Book Club (May 18): A great quartet(四人組)of actresses (Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen) headline this comedy about a book club that gets back into a romantic mood after reading Fifty Shades Of Grey. It sounds ridiculous, but if that is a hook for a romantic comedy, it will be trying something new.

Tag (June 15): This comedy looks like it might share some DNA with The Hangover, as a group of friends reunite over the years to play a never-ending game of tag—Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Buress, Jake Johnson, Ed Helms, Leslie Bibb, Rashida Jones and Isla Fisher star. In other words: a lot of people we already know are funny, plus Jeremy Renner!

Uncle Drew (June 29): The attraction is that a young guy (Lil Rel Howery) has to renew a team of old men—played by NBA legends in old-age makeup—to play alongside his Uncle Drew (Kyrie Irving) in a big neighborhood game. This is such a strange idea for a comedy that I cannot wait to see it. Stars include Shaquille O’ Neal, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber, Lisa Leslie, Reggie Miller, J.B. Smoove and an up-and-coming comedy actress, Tifany Haddish.

Skyscraper (July 13): It wouldn’t be an action-movie season without Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson running off a crane(起重機)and leaping in a way that in reality would result in certain death but that in a movie results in a safe landing! I’m not here to tell you it’s more than it appears. I’m here to tell you it’s probably exactly as it appears. It comes out on July 13, so perhaps on the hottest day of the summer, forget your troubles and see The Rock save his family.

1Which film can you enjoy this May?

A. Book Club. B. Tag. C. Uncle Drew. D. Skyscraper.

2What is strange about Uncle Drew?

A. A lot of people in old-age makeup are very funny.

B. A young man has to employ some NBA legends to play in a game.

C. Some current NBA superstars will star in the film.

D. The author cannot wait to see the film.

3Which film is not a comedy?

A. Book Club. B. Tag. C. Uncle Drew. D. Skyscraper.

【題目】 Desiree was only four when she lost her Dad. Instead of gradually adjusting to his death, Desiree refused to accept it and even wanted to die so as to be with her father. Concerned about her daughter, Rhonda turned to her mother, Trish Moore, for help.

November 8 of 1993 would have been Ken’s 29th birthday. So Trish advised Desiree to send her father a card. Desiree’s eyes lit up as she dictated a letter, “Happy birthday, Daddy. I love you and miss you. I hope you get this and can write to me on my birthday.” Trish wrote the message and their address on a small piece of paper and tied it to the end of the string on a balloon with a drawing of the Little Mermaid (美人魚). Finally, Desiree released the balloon.

On November 12 in eastern Canada, Wade MacKinnon was duck-hunting. Suddenly something in the bushes caught his eye. Curious, he approached to find a silver balloon. The letter finished with a mailing address in Live Oak, California. The balloon traveled 3,000 miles. What a coincidence! A Little Mermaid balloon landed at Mermaid Lake. To help Desiree, the MacKinnons wrote her a letter with a birthday card and an adaptation of The Little mermaid.

The MacKinnons’ package arrived later on Desiree’s birthday. The letter read, “Happy birthday from your daddy. You must be wondering who we are. Well, it all started... There are no stores in heaven, so your daddy picked us to do the shopping. We know your daddy loves you very much and wants you to be happy and not sad. Lots of love, the MacKinnons.”

Tears in eyes, Desiree said, “I knew Daddy would find a way not to forget me.” Next, Trish began to read the Little Mermaid to her, in which the mermaid was finally carried away by angels. “The mermaid goes to heaven just like Daddy!” Desiree said with delight.
