We are living in a world in which sharing is so important that we can never emphasize its important too much. By sharing, we can often greatly lessen our sadness and double our happiness.

When it comes to this topic , memories flood into my mind. There was a time when I was caught in the sadness of failing an important exam, my world turned grey and I lost interest in everything until my best friend came up to comfort me. Encouraged and moved by his kindness, I shared my trouble with him ,---which relived me of troubles soon. Littlie by little I regained my confidence. The following months witnessed my efforts, and I finally made great progress in another important exams.

As you can see, it was sharing with my friend that helped me out of the dark moment and brought back my confidence. Sharing is beautiful, not only physically but also mentally/psychologically.

One of the best-known science fiction books is Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. Published in 1949, it was not meant as a prediction, but as a warning: Orwell was describing what he saw as the outcome of the ideas, trends, and emerging technologies of his time. Many invented terms from this novel have become common in everyday use, such as “big brother” and “doublethink”. Even the author’s name has been made into an adjective—Orwellian—and has become a warning descriptor for situations where privacy is lost and the individual becomes sacrifice under a totalitarian(極權(quán)主義) government. Nineteen Eighty-Four was translated into sixty-five languages within five years of its publication, setting a record that still stands.

What helps bring science fiction into being is usually a new discovery or innovation. The author creates an analysis of the potential influence and consequences and then wraps it in a pleasant story. For example, the beginning of space exploration was followed a few years later by the Star Trek television program and movie series. Advances in genetics(遺傳學(xué)) cause fantasies of the end of disease, horrors of eugenics(優(yōu)生學(xué)), and thrillers where creatures disappearing long ago are brought back to life. When a third person enters, you will unconsciously form a triangle. And when there is a fourth person it becomes a square, with someone in every corner. A fifth person is probably going to have to stand in the middle.

New entrants to the lift will need to size up the situation when the doors slide open and then act decisively. Once in, for most people the rule is simple – look down, or look at your phone.

Why are we so awkward in lifts?

“You don’t have enough space,” Professor Babette Renneberg, a clinical psychologist at the Free University of Berlin, told the BBC. “Usually when we meet other people we have about an arm’s length of distance between us. And that’s not possible in most elevators.”

In such a small, enclosed space it becomes very important to act in a way that cannot be construed (理解) as threatening or odd. “The easiest way to do this is to avoid eye contact,” she said.
