With the cases of violating traffic regulations increasing in cities, traffic accidents occur frequently, calling serious attention throughout the country and becoming a major concern in our society today.

　 Frightening news never stops shocking people. On April 5^th, a company manager’s drunk driving in Sanmen, Taizhou resulted in four deaths and eight injuries. Sadly, May 7^th witnessed another terrible accident due to drag racing in the city center of Hangzhou, causing the immediate death of a Zhejiang University graduate, who was then crossing the road.

　 Painful lessons quite set the alarm bells ringing. Harmonious society calls for people who treasure their lives, society as well as their families. Drivers should always put their responsibilities on top of everything and say “no” strongly to drunk driving and drag racing.

It is time that the government took steps to prevent drunk driving and drag racing. Severe punishment should be carried out without mercy whether it is drag racing or drunk driving. Only when everybody obeys traffic rules can we enjoy a happier life.
