注意 1.每處錯(cuò)誤及其修改均僅限一詞;

I was not good in math in the first year of junior high school. Having been failed so many times in math exams, I was anxious about the subject. Every time I tried hardly to work out a math problem, I was afraid of making mistakes, that really made me feel helpless. Unluckily, I met a math teacher in the second year. She told me that I didn’t need to worry about making mistakes, because I could find out my shortcomings through my mistake. She always encouraged me to try again whenever I make a mistake. Thanks to my teacher’s encouragement, I became interesting in math and made rapid progresses. My experience proves that failure is the mother of success and we can learn a lot from our mistakes.

【1】in——at

【2】been 去掉

【3】hardly——hard

【4】that——which

【5】Unluckily——Luckily

【6】mistake——mistakes

【7】make——made

【8】interesting—— interested

【9】progresses——progress

【10】在and和we之間加上that

【1】in——at 考查固定搭配。形容詞短語(yǔ)be good at...擅長(zhǎng)于...;do well in擅長(zhǎng)于.....;句意:在初中一年級(jí)的時(shí)候,我并不擅長(zhǎng)數(shù)學(xué)。

【4】that——which 考查定語(yǔ)從句。

【7】make——made 考查時(shí)態(tài)。

【10】在and和we之間加上that 考查賓語(yǔ)從句。 本句中動(dòng)詞prove后面含有兩個(gè)賓語(yǔ)從句that failure is the mother of success we can learn a lot from our mistakes.

Some cheaters are caught. As usual, some students tried to cheat on the exams. Hang Chon Naron is the person responsible5the “no-cheating” policy. It is an important part of his effort to reform education. He thinks the pass rate will be higher this year, partly6students have studied more. “We got a report from the schools that they worked harder.”

The minister hopes that7(honest) in the exam-taking will begin correcting the biggest problems facing the education system: high school graduates who are not ready8 (fill) jobs. The system has long produced graduates who lack the skills 9employers need. Also, there is another program10(aim) at improving education for women. Urbanization

Until relatively recently, the vast majority of human being lived and died without ever seeing a city. The first city was probably founded no more than 5,500 years ago. _【1】_ In fact, nearly everyone lived on farms or in tiny rural (鄉(xiāng)村的) villages. It was not until the 20th century that Great Britain became the first urban society in history—a society in which the majority of people live in cities and do not farm for a living.

Britain was only the beginning. _2__ The process of urbanization—the migration (遷徙) of people from the countryside to the city—was the result of modernization, which has rapidly transformed how people live and where they live.

In 1900, fewer than 40% of Americans lived in urban areas. Today, over 82% of Americans live in cities. Only about 2% live on farms. __3__

Large cities were impossible until agriculture became industrialized. Even in advanced agricultural societies, it took about ninetyfive people on farms to feed five people in cities.__4__ Until modern times, those living in cities were mainly the ruling elite (精英) and the servants, laborers and professionals who served them. Cities survived by taxing farmers and were limited in size by the amount of surplus(過(guò)剩)food that the rural population produced and by the ability to move this surplus from farm to city.

Over the past two centuries, the Industrial Revolution has broken this balance between the city and the country.__5_ Today, instead of needing ninetyfive farmers to feed /span>five city people, one American farmer is able to feed more than a hundred nonfarmers.

A.That kept cities very small.

B.The rest live in small towns.

C.The effects of urban living on people should be considered

D.Soon many other industrial nations became urban societies.

E.But even 200 years ago, only a few people could live in cities.

F.Modernization drew people to the cities and made farmers more productive.

G.Modern cities have destroyed social relations and the health of human beings.
