Last year, I was on a trip in Sanxiarenjia in Yichang, Hubei. I waited for the boat【1】(take) me along the Yijiang River. Out of nowhere, a shirtless man ran up to me and asked to take a photo with me【2】(both smiled as he said I was the first foreigner he had ever seen. He said “thank you” and ran off again.

The experience was funny, and it wasn’t the first time this【3】((happen) to me. In fact, almost all the foreigners I know in China have experienced the【4】(thing. Girls with blonde hair seem to be the most【5】((photograph). Most of them were surprised at first, but they now enjoy having their photo taken with happy students.

Of course, many countries in the West are home to different ethnicities. So it is normal to see people【6】(look different. But it’s different in many areas of China.

Personally, I think it’s fine to take photos with strangers. But try to ask first. Once I【7】((wait) for my friend in an art district when a group of girls began giggling (咯咯地笑) at their phones. I noticed one of them was pointing the camera at me,【8】((secret) taking photos. When I spotted them, they smiled and asked if they【9】(take a photo with me. Maybe it is shyness, but I prefer when people ask【10】(they take a photo. Most foreigners will say yes.

答案

【1】to take

【2】We

【3】had happened

【4】same

【5】photographed

【6】who/that

【7】was waiting

【8】secretly

【9】could

【10】before

【解析】

【1】本題考查wait for sb./sth. to do的結(jié)構(gòu),等待某人來干某事。

【2】考查代詞作主語,上文提到“a shirtless man ran up to me”,所以我們兩個就用we作主語。

【3】考查動詞時態(tài)。It is/was the first time (that)的句型用現(xiàn)在完成時或過去完成時,所以前面是was,對應(yīng)后面填had happened。

先行詞是人,所以用who/that。

【7】考查動詞時態(tài)。這是一個固定句型,sb. was doing sth. when sb. did sth.

Traveling should be easy and enjoyable, and one of the ways to make sure your trip remains fun is to know exactly how to keep your valuables safe.

If you are traveling alone, distribute your money through your luggage. Place most of it in your main suitcase or bag. Make a rough estimate of how much money you will spend on the journey, till you reach your destination. Place this money in a different wallet and carry this in your pocket. Spend from this pocket till you get to your destination. If you are travelling with someone, distribute the money among yourselves.

Instead of wearing your jewels, you can put your jewels at the bottom of your suitcase or bag. DO NOT carry in your purse, just in case it is stolen; or in case you misplace your purse. In addition, if you are going to be frequently opening your purse for things like tickets and phone numbers, what if you accidently just drop them.

Have you ever seen a mini backpack purse? It looks really fashionable and is very smart. Plus, Its really convenient to use. The best thing to do is to hang the mini backpack purse in the front, like a baby carrier. There are two big advantages to do this; one, your hands remain free to carry your luggage and other things; and two, your purse is always monitored, and is just under your nose!

Credit cards are very useful in many ways. But if you misplace your credit card, it is quite easy for someone else to find it and use it to his/ her maximum benefit before you even realize you have lost it! 【題目】Expensive and new gloves allow chatterboxes(話匣子)to take the term “handsfree” to a new levelby talking into them as they make a call. The gloves are known as “Talk to the Hand” and cost 1,000 a pair. They fixed a speaker unit into the thumb and a microphone into the little finger that can be connected to any mobile handset using Bluetooth.

Artist Sean Miles designed the new gloves that double as a phone in part of his project that shows the possibilities of gadget(小裝置,小機(jī)械) recycling. He uses outdated gloves and combines them with parts from mobile handsets recycled through O2, which commissioned(承擔(dān))the project. Mobile phone users will be able to keep their hands warm while they chat without taking their phones out of their pockets or handbags.

Mr Miles designed two pairs of the new gloves—one in pink and the other in brown and yellow. They will appear in an exhibition this July and visitors will be able to win the gloves. If demand is high, they will then be produced on a larger scale. O2 Recycle, which backed the project, estimates that there are already 70 million unused mobile handsets in the UK. The service pays up to 260 to those who recycle gadgets including phones, handheld consoles, MP3 players and digital cameras.

Designer Sean Miles hopes his work will get people thinking about recycling. The 41-year-old said, “I hope that my ‘Talk to the Hand’ project will get people to think again about the waste created by not recycling gadgets. If a few more people recycle their gadgets rather than send them to trash, I think this project will have fulfilled its aim.”

Bill Eyres, head of O2 Recycle, urges people to recycle their phone responsibly. He said, “There’s a pressing need for all of us to look at outdated handsets, and all the gadgets that we move on from or upgrade each year. Whether they are consoles or cameras, we should think of them as a resource that we need to recycle responsibly rather than throw them away.”
