The latest Chinese “god song”(an Internet term to describe pop songs that spread virally through the Internet(像病毒一樣傳播開來) is still making debates(爭論) between those who view it as a milestone for Chinese pop music going global and those who regard it as a bad image of China.
Last week, Little Apple, written and performed by the Chopsticks Brothers, won the AMA International Song Award and the duo performed the song at the 2014 American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Another Chinese pop singer, Zhang Jie, won the International Artist Award.
But while fans of these singers are thinking highly of the awards(獎) and the performance by the Chopsticks Brothers at the AMA celebration, there are others who are less excited. They have questioned the value of the awards and what effect it will have on Chinese culture’s “going abroad”, saying it may leave foreign audiences with a poor impression(印象) of Chinese pop music, and even Chinese culture.
The Little Apple phenomenon, both home and abroad, can be more easily understood and judged if we look at it from a business view rather than a cultural view. The professional promoters behind the duo have developed a clear strategy(策略) to promote the duo and their works, not just this particular song. Little Apple was originally released(發(fā)行) to promote the duo’s film Old Boys: The Way of the Dragon.
From the very beginning a marketing strategy was used to promote(提升) the song, which immediately went viral on the Internet due to its repetitive rhythm(重復(fù)的韻律),easy-to-remember lyrics(歌詞), simple and funny dance and, most importantly, grass roots (草根) nature. The video accumulated(積攢) more than 1 billion bits on China’s major video websites.
Although the song was generally disliked by music professionals who criticized(批評) it as “musical junk food”, Little Apple’s popularity nationally paved the way(為…鋪平道路) for promoting the duo internationally.
1.The writer’s attitude to the song of Little Apple is ________.
A. opposed(相反的)B. negative(消極的)
C. objective(客觀的)D. critical
2.What do the underlined words “the duo” refer to?
A. Little AppleB. Chopsticks Brother
C. Zhang JieD. American singers
3.We can learn from the passage that ________.
A. Little Apple’s popularity is also a success of marketing strategy
B. Little Apple is generally thought nothing by the AMA
C. Little Apple is really popular with all people in China
D. Little Apple was originally released as a pop play on the Internet

Speaking of city life, we always think of tall buildings, crowded street and comfortable living conditions. Therefore, there is too much pollution in the city. Citizens had to put up with noises and harmful gases. What about country life? The first thought comes into our minds is peace and quietness. Villagers breathe freshly air and enjoy clean water. But this is known to all that life in the country is much more difficult than those in the city. Besides, life in the country lacks of the excitement of our modern times. In my opinion, if we human beings pay enough attention to protect the environment and natural resources, we will be able enjoy our life to the fullest.

Kids may need to apologize if they do something they know was wrong-like telling a lie or breaking a rule on purpose. When they do something their parents tell them not to do, or they don't do something they are supposed to do, they apologize, too.
Grown-ups can apologize, too,to other grown-ups or even to kids. After all, even grown-ups make mistakes sometimes. By apologizing when they're wrong,grown-ups can set a good example and show kids how to do the right thing and apologize when they need to.
Saying I'm sorry when you need to is the right thing to do. It does a lot of good. But by itself,it might not be enough to make everything all better again. Sometimes along with an apology,a person needs to fix the mistake or promise to do better. Sometimes doing a nice thing for the person after you apologize helps show that you really are sorry and want to be friendly again.
Sometimes a heartfelt "I'm" sorry fixes everything right away. Other times,it might take a while for someone to feel friendly after you apologize. You might need to give the other person some time. Even after you say you're sorry, you might still feel bad about what you said or did-but you can feel good about apologizing and about making up your mind to do better.
When someone apologizes to you,you might not feel like being friendly again right away. Once in a while,if a person doesn't change, you might not want to be friends anymore. You might feel glad that the other person apologized and admitted being wrong. But if someone keeps behaving in mean ways or does something that keeps hurting, you might not feel the same way anymore. Just because someone apologizes to you doesn't mean you have to be friendly again. That part is up to you.
1.The writer suggests that grown-ups should set a good example of ________.
A.working hard
B.making an apology
C.doing good deeds
D.making mistakes
2.The underlined pronoun "it" (in Paragraph 3) probably refers to ________.
A.promising to do better
B.a(chǎn) lot of good
C.fixing mistakes
D.saying I'm sorry
3.What would you like your friend to say to you if he/she hurts you?
A.I am really wrong.
B.Excuse me.
C.I beg your pardon?
D.What's wrong with you?
4.The passage mainly deals with a topic about ________.
A.politics
B.history
C.communication
D.science

科目:高中英語 來源:2017屆河南南陽高三上期中質(zhì)量評估英語試卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解
Suppose you have three things: a piece of wood, a nail and a hammer. Pretend the wood is a person, and the nail is a mean rumor(語言) about that person. If you hammer the nail in, you're obviously hurting him or her. If you then pull out the nail, there's still a hole in the wood, and the damage has been done.
There are many reasons why that nail of a rumor can be so harmful. Rumors are, quite simply, a form of bullying(欺侮). When a person or a group makes up a rumor about someone or decides to spread gossip, it's usually to hurt someone, break up a friendship, or make someone less popular. It's the same thing as teasing, only it's done behind someone's back instead of to his or her face.
When you spread a rumor about someone, you're sending a signal that the person is outside the group, and somehow less worthy of friendship than others. You're making fun of that person or pointing out negative things about him or her. This can let others think that it's OK to make the person feel bad, and make him or her an outsider.
We need to be able to trust our friends, but gossip and rumors can break this trust. If you tell a personal secret to a friend, and he turns around and tells it to someone else, you might feel like you will get burned if you ever get close to him again.
Letting a rumor influence your behavior is like letting someone else make a big decision for you. Let's say you hear that a teacher plans to call a Snowy Day tomorrow because a blizzard(暴風(fēng)雪) is coming. Expecting a day off, you don't do your homework as usual. The next morning, the blizzard turns out to be nothing more than a drizzle(毛毛雨), and school isn't off after all. You get zeroes on your work.
1.If a rumor is spread about someone, others may ________.
A. keep away from him or her
B. point out his or her advantages
C. not feel he or she is an outsider
D. be hurt if getting close to him or her again
2.To tell the rumor and the teasing apart, you depend on ________.
A. whether it is painful or not
B. whether it is done behind someone
C. whether it is a kind of bullying
D. whether it is spread fast
3.From the last paragraph, we can infer that ________.
A. it is hard to keep rumors a secret
B. rumors can destroy your interest in learning
C. rumors can control your whole life
D. believing rumors can lead to bad choices
4.The purpose of this passage is to ________.
A. advise on how to deal with rumors
B. teach us how to judge a rumor
C. explain why rumors hurt
D. find out why rumors spread fast
