Norm Pethrick,a 36-year-old man in Australia's northern city Darwin,was praised on Thursday for jumping onto a crocodile's back to save his wife Wendy at Litchfield National Park …a local newspaper reported."可知這篇文章應(yīng)是刊登在當(dāng)?shù)氐囊患覉?bào)紙上的.故正確答案為B.
29.B 細(xì)節(jié)題.根據(jù)文章內(nèi)容,Ms Pethrick was standing on a river bank Wednesday afternoon when the saltwater crocodile lunged (撲),locking its jaws on both her legs as it tried to drag her underwater."可知在Ms Pethrick站在岸邊的時(shí)候,那只咸水鱷撲了上來,咬住了他的腿,試圖把他拖進(jìn)水里.故正確答案為B.

31.D 主旨題.根據(jù)文章內(nèi)容,主要講述了一名男子不顧自身危險(xiǎn)從鱷魚嘴中救下了自己的妻子的故事,結(jié)合選項(xiàng),故選D

8.The ninth week of SEAL(Sea,Air,Land) training is referred to as Hell Week.It is six days of no sleep,physical and mental suffering and one special day at the Mud Flats (泥沼)where you will sink into the mud.
It is on Wednesday of Hell Week that we came down to the mud flats and spend the next 15 hours keeping alive in the freezing-cold mud,the cold wind and the strong pressure from the instructors to give up.
As the sun began to set that Wednesday evening,my training class,having broken some of the rules,was ordered into the mud.We sank into the mud until only our heads could be seen.The instructors told us we could leave the mud if only five men would give up---just five men and we could get out of the cold.
Looking around the mud flat,it was clear that some of us were about to give up.It was still over eight hours till the sun came up---eight more hours of coldness.Our cries were so loud that it was hard to hear anything.And then,one voice began to fly through the night---one voice raised in song.
The song sounded terrible,but it was sung with great power.One voice became two,and two became three,and before long everyone in the class was singing.
We knew that if one man could rise above the suffering then others could as well.The instructors warned us of more time in the mud if we kept up the singing---but the singing went on and on.And somehow,the mud seemed a little warmer,the wind a little weaker and the morning not so far away.
If I have learned anything in my time traveling the world,it is the power of hope.The power can change the world by giving people hope.
So,if you want to change the world, start singing when you're up to your neck in mud.

1.For many years, machines have been doing work that people once did, including some difficult jobs.Search and rescue operations in dangerous environments are often seen as the first areas that will employ high technology robots. But there is another area where they may soon take jobs traditionally held by human beings:the restaurant industry.
Teams from around the world competed in early June at the DARPA Robotic Challenge Finals in California.A team from South Korea and its robot called DRC-Hubo,won the first place in the competition. The second and third place winners were from the United Sta tes.The robots were required to drive a vehicle, climb up steps and do mechanical work.Such activities are easy for humans to perform, but more difficult for machines. Not all of the c ompetitors were successful. The failures showed how difficuit it is to design effective walking
machines.
Akihiro Suzuki works at Yaskawa Electric,a company that develops robots. He says robots cannot do everything a human can,but they are able to work without becoming tired. He says robots cannot taste food, change heating levels or seasonings to get the best flavor (風(fēng) 味).But he says if a food can be easily prepared,a robot can repeat the same movement to reproduce the same meal.
One Japanese woman who saw the robots working wanted to bring them home.Masayo Mori says she would like to have a husband who could work like a robot.Suzumo Machinery showed its sushi (壽司)maker robot. It performs the often difficult work of wrapping the popular Japanese food.Hiroshi Monden is an official with the company. He says people all over the world now eat sushi, but there are not enough skilled workers to prepare it.He says his machine can help anyone make sushi.

5.Online Communication
In an age when technology moves faster than most can keep up with,a small group of people still remain in the time of old-fashioned letter.Frankly speaking,I was once certain that traditional letters could never be replaced by other means of communication.
But a story about online communication changed my mind.
An old man,who suffered a lot from Parkinson's disease,was not able to talk clearly and could hardly write his name.Living totally alone,he managed to keep in touch with nearly all the members of his family.How did he achieve this?He clicked out words on his computer keyboard.
I,therefore,managed to get an E-mail box as soon as the opportunity came.My life changed.E-mail,and all online communication,is something truly different.It has capabilities that few other products can match.
E-mail is convenient.It takes less time with its fast speed and 24-hour connection.The slow postal service is no match.If you wouldn't want to have a face-to-face talk with your manager,you might talk with him through E-mail even if you are in the same office.
Naming all the good things about online communication is not easy.But wait.E-mail can be inconvenient.It can waste time and energy.
Just think what may happen when you take a short vacation and return to find your e-mail box filled with 200unread messages.You could easily spend half a day clearing  junk ads.
Then, online communication will keep us staying at our computer while it connects us to distant strangers.Once we throw ourselves into the machine,we may forget the human touches we once held so dear.I'm sure there is and always will be a place for the old-fashioned letter,phone call,and face-to-face meeting…even in the world of modern communication.
As I listen to the sound of the modem(調(diào)制解調(diào)器),I was excited at stepping out to the outside world but,at the same time,I sensed a loss of control over something valuable in my personal life.
41.What is the most probable meaning of the underlined word"junk"in paragraph7?A
A.old and useless
B.New and useful
C.Short but valuable
D.Long but clear
42.What caused the writer to become interested in E-mail and online communication?D
A.The sound of the modem.
B.His own illness.
C.The changing of his life.
D.A sick old man's experience.
43.What does the writer think of online communication?C
A.It should replace old-fashioned letters completely.
B.It is perfect and always does good to you.
C.It is extremely useful and convenient,but it may be inconvenient or even harmful.
D.It does more harm than good.
44.According to the writer,traditional means of communication will never disappear becauseB.
A.they are convenient and popular though they are slow
B.they help to keep the friendly relationship between people
C.most people cannot keep up with the development of technology
D.modern means of communication does too much harm
45.How did the sick old man keep in touch with his family members?A
A.With the help of his computer.
B.By writing letters with his pen.
C.By making telephone calls.
D.By visiting them regularly.

We didn't say another word.We just held each other.When we came to the point where I would usually pull away (離開),I decided that,this time,I could hold on,perhaps,just a little bit longer.
