 “Lei Feng” is now part of our language. It means “helping o  71   ”.If a person is h  72  , we call him “Lei Feng”.

“Lei Feng was a soldier in the early 1960s. He was born in 1940 in Changsha, Hunan. His family didn’t have much money. When he was seven, his parents died. He became a soldier at the a   73   of 20.  He had a warm heart and a   74  helped others.

He said, “To live is to serve the people－live to make others h   75  . ” He regarded other people a   76   his family. He gave his own money to other soldiers. He e   77   washed clothes for others.

On August 15, 1962, a pole(桿) fell on Lei’s head and took his life. He was only 22 years old.
