Sociologists(社會學(xué)家), working in western countries, have found that a large number of women wished they had been born men. The number is said to be as high as 60% in Germany.

“Women often wish they had the same chances as men have, and think it is still men’s world,” said Dr James Helen, one of the sociologists who had done the study.

Many men say that they have more duties than women. A man has to make money to support his family and to make the important decision, so it is right for men to be paid more. Some are even against their wives at all. When wives go out to work, the home and children can't be taken good care of. If women take full-time jobs, they won’t be able to do what they are best at doing: making a nice room and bringing up the children.

Some women didn’t agree. They say they want to go out of their rooms and to have freedom to choose between work and home life. Women have the right of equal pay and equal chances.

Ann Harper has a very good job, she also believe in “Women’ Liberation”. “I don’t wish I were a man,” she says, “and I don’t think women do. But I do wish people stop treating us like second-class people. At work, for example, we usually do the work that men do but get paid less. There are still a lot of jobs only to men –usually they are the best ones. If you are a man, you have a much better chance of living a wonderful life. How many women is scientist, or engineers?

Bananas don′t paw on trees. They grow on a thick stalk(莖)that looks just a lithe like a  stalk of corn The stalk is soft enough to be cut with a knife.

It takes about a year before 4 bananas are ready to be picked, Some are as small fingers, Others are as long and thick as men’s arms. Some banana plants gum as tall as a house —even taller!

Not all bananas are eaten as fruit. Some never get sweet, and they are cooked as a kind of vegetable.

People in most countries never see a banana until it reads the stole. But if you visited a country where it's hot and rains a lot all the year. you might set a banana plantation(種植園)a large farm where bananas grow.

As they get bigger. bananas start turning up. It looks as if they're growing upside down!

Bananas are ready to eat when they turn soft and yellow. But they're picked long before this — when they're bard and bright green. This is because bananas have to travel many miles before they arrive at a store. On trucks and boats and trains bananas travel all over the world. There are special boats just for bananas and special trains that keep them just cool enough so that they will get ripe while traveling . If bananas arc picked when they are ripe. they will spoil(變壞) on the way.
