【題目】 To wear or not to wear masks?
In the West, people are taught to wear masks only when they get sick. Masks are seen as a tool to protect sick people and prevent the disease from spreading, so healthy people don’t need to wear them. Therefore, during the novel coronavirus outbreak, overseas Chinese students said that they would be “stared at like a virus spreader” if they go out with a mask.
In Asian countries like China and Japan, there has been a long tradition of mask-wearing. In China, for example, when doctor Wu Liande invented the modern medical mask during the pneumonic plague (肺鼠疫) in 1910, the mask became a symbol of China’s position as a modern, scientific nation, according to Scottish medical anthropologist (人類學(xué)家) Christos Lynteris. The 2003 SARS epidemic again led to the wide use of masks as a form of anti-viral protection in China and elsewhere in East Asia.
In Japan, wearing masks has long been seen as a manner to reassure others when one catches a cold or flu. Some Japanese also turn masks into fashion accessories (配飾), with different colors and patterns to match their clothes. Wearing masks is also a way to “hide” for young women when they don’t have their makeup on.
In more collectivist cultures in Asia, wearing masks might also be a symbol of solidarity during the outbreak, according to Lynteris. “Mask culture in Asia creates a sense of a fate shared, common obligation and civic duty.” People wear masks “to show that they want to stick together” in the face of danger, Lynteris wrote.

【題目】閱讀下面短文,并用英語回答問題(請(qǐng)注意每小題后面的詞數(shù)要求)。
One day, a successful businessman was getting ready to go to his office in the morning. When he opened the door of his car, a black dog sleeping under his car suddenly came out and bit(咬) his leg! He was angry and threw a rock at the dog, although he was not able to hit it.
When he reached his office, the businessman called a meeting of his managers. During the meeting, he took out his anger on his managers. His managers were upset about this and took out their own anger on the people working under them. Gradually, the businessman's anger spread through the whole company.
The businessman was still angry after returning home. His wife opened the door. She asked him, "Why are you to late today?" The man shouted at his wife, "I didn't go to the office to play soccer, I went to work. So don't make me angry with your stupid questions."
His wife was upset about being shouted at for no reason. She turned her anger on their son, who was watching TV. "This is all you do. You have no interest in studying! Turn off the TV now! "She shouted.
The son didn't know how to take out his anger. He went out and saw a yellow dog. Then he picked up a rock and threw it at the yellow dog. The dog ran away, barking in pain.
Sometimes, when we are angry about something, we might take out our anger on others who are not to blame (責(zé)備) for our mood. This is not fair to others. That's to say, we should learn to control our anger.

【題目】 Writing text messages while walking is dangerous. A study says it is more dangerous than texting while driving. Researchers found that there are more injuries(傷害)to texting walkers than there are to texting drivers. Their report says walking is not as easy as we think. They run into walls and other people. They walk into cars, fall over things in the street, and even fall into holes or downstairs.
A professor said walking is a difficult action. There are several reasons why texting makes walking dangerous. One is that people cannot see the street.
