Teachers are important for improving learning. People all know this. They have a powerful influence on the quality of student learning. Teacher payment is below US$10 per day in 8 countries.

However, 124 million of the children across the world are out of school and 250 million are not learning basic skills as a result of poor quality education. According to a research, 38% of children are not learning the basics in reading and math. And over one-half of them have spent 4 years in school.
