【解析】

句意:我被告訴去往香港的航班可能要晚點(diǎn)!堑,它取決于天氣。

A. told告訴(一般過去時(shí));B. have told已經(jīng)告訴(現(xiàn)在完成時(shí));C. was told被告訴(一般過去時(shí)被動(dòng)語態(tài));D. was telling正在告訴(過去進(jìn)行時(shí)),根據(jù)所給空前面的I和后面的the flight可知,應(yīng)該是被動(dòng)語態(tài),意為“被告知”,由語境可知,時(shí)態(tài)是一般過去時(shí),所以用一般過去時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài),故答案選C。

【題目】 When you are in England, you must be very careful in the streets because the traffic drives on the left.

Before you cross a street, you must look at the right first and then left. If the traffic lights are red, the traffic must stop. Then the people on foot can cross the road.

If the traffic lights are green, the traffic can go. People on foot mustn’t cross.

In the morning and in the evening when people go to or come from work, the streets are very busy. Traffic is most dangerous then.

When you go by bus in England, you have to be careful, too. Always remember the traffic moves on the left. So you must be careful. Have a look first or you will go the wrong way.

In many English cities, there are big buses with two floors. You can sit on the second floor. From there you can see the city very clearly. It’s very interesting.

1In England, the traffic drives on the right.

2Must you look at the right or the left first when you cross a street?

【題目】 What is the worst disease in the world? Many people might say it is cancer. Cancer will kill about 9.6 million people in the world this year, according to World Health Organization. Scientists have been working to find ways to beat cancer. A lot of progress has been made in this field.

James P Allison from the US and Japanese researcher Tasuku Honjo discovered a new kind of cancer treatment that earned them the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in October. The new treatment can make our immune systems (免疫系統(tǒng)) strong enough to effectively fight cancer cells. It is hoped that this treatment can be used to treat more cancers in the future.

This is not the only recent improvement in cancer treatment. In November, the US Food and Drug Administration approved(批準(zhǔn))a new cancer drug called Vitrakvi. Instead of being effective only for treating specific types of cancer, this drug can be used to treat 17 different kinds of cancer, including lung cancer and breast cancer, USA Today reported.

Finding cancer as early as possible is the best way to beat it. To check people for cancer, doctors must collect tissue(組織)from a patient’s tumor(腫瘤 and test it. This process can take a long time. But in December, scientists from the University of Queensland in Australia developed a simple cancer test that can detect (檢測(cè)) cancer in a patient’s blood. The test takes less than 10 minutes. The test is about 90 percent accurate (精確的), the Guardian reported.

With all of these treatments, cancer can be effectively controlled. Honjo believes most kinds of cancer will become treatable by 2050. “Even if we cannot completely eliminate(消除) the tumor, we can survive while still having part of a tumor,” Honjo said at a press conference in Stockholm, Sweden, in December.
