14.It is reported that in the near future robots and humans will probably work together to create jazz.A singing robot is being taught to create jazz with human being in a project.
Antonio Chella from Italy is working with a Telenoid robot.To start with,the Telenoid will be trained to imitate the movements and simple sounds made by a human singer,and then connect music with different human emotions.
Previous(以前的) robots had the ability to find common connections between things.But Chella suggests that a conscious(有意識的) robot should be able to go a step further and find new connections.The Telenoid is of this kind.
"This work raises interesting questions about the connection between consciousness and music creating."says Philippe Pasquier,a musician needs a physical body.
Pasquer argues that the robot musician is faced with a big challenge."Its software has already been developed and it can imitate The Beatles,a famous band.However,what made The Beatles famous were not only their songs but their wonderful performance of the songs,"he says.
It is not clear how a robot would perform music a new way.But by imitating humans,the Telenoid robot could provide some useful information.What is important is that human musicians often listen to and compare music made by others for a long time before creating music of their own.So the Telenoid robot had better listen to more jazz music first.

以前的機器人具有在不同事物之間發(fā)現(xiàn)共同聯(lián)系的能力,但是Chella認為有意識的機器人可能會做的更好并且能夠區(qū)別不同事物之間更深層的聯(lián)系,Telenoid機器人就是這樣一種機器人;

解答 61.C.詞義猜測題.根據(jù)"To start with,the Telenoid will be trained toimitate the movements and simple sounds made by a human singer,and thenconnect music with different human emotions."可知,最初Telenoid機器人只是imitate動作和簡單的聲音,既然有動作,那么選項中的發(fā)出聲響和編曲就不符合題意;另外動作和簡單聲音后面有made by a human singer的定語限制,因此這些動作和聲音的制造者是人,因此制造不合題意,只能是模仿;
 62.D.細節(jié)理解題.根據(jù)第二段To start with,the Telenoid will be trained to imitate the movements and simple sounds made bya human singer可知,Telenoid機器人最初學習的是模仿人類歌手的動作和簡單的聲音;
 63.B. The Telenoid robit may have trouble performing music.
D,Science.

"The past year has seen a lot of progress in the search for Earth-like planets.Kepler-186f is very important because it is the first planet that is the same temperature and is almost the same size as Earth,"scientist David Charbonneau wrote in an email.

7.Kids Speak UpIn an online poll (投票),TIME FOR KIDS and KidsHealth.org asked kids how they are getting along with their parents.Here's what they told us.
Getting Along and Having Fun
About two out of three kids said they get along very well with their parents.About four out of five told us they have fun with their parents.But that doesn't mean they never disagree.In fact,most kids reported arguing with their parents sometimes.
"It's common to disagree and argue,"says D'Arcy Lyness,a child psychologist (心理學家)."But it's also important to learn how to do so respectfully."About half of the kids said they are doing that.When they disagree with their parents,they say they have a discussion calmly.
But two out of five kids said arguments always involve shouting at each other.Lyness points out that shouting never helps."Speak up,and let your parents know your ideas,"she advises."But be patient.Don't use a raised,angry voice."
Not surprisingly,three out of four kids admitted (承認) to lying at times.Many said they lie to avoid getting in trouble or disappointing their parents.According to Lyness,lying isn't just wrong.It can actually get bad results.Telling the truth builds trust."When parents can trust you,they are more likely to give you more freedom."she says.
A Changing Relationship
Kids ages 12 to 14 not only said they lie more,but they also reported having less fun,feeling less close,and not getting along as well with their parents.
According to Lyness,those feelings are not uncommon.As kids grow up,they have more disagreements or arguments with their parents.But it doesn't have to be that way."Kids and parents get along differently at different times of the journey of life,"she says.As kids grow and change,it is important for ever ybody to adapt (適應(yīng))."There's a dance of ways that you act with others and get along,"she points out."Then there's a change,and it's a different dance."Change is normal,she stresses.
Share this story with your family.You may find that you have a lot to talk about.

51.According to Lyness,which is a possible way for kids to get more freedom?A
