In the lowland zone there is less rainfall, but has more sunshine. It has more fertile soil than the highland zone, which hardly has any rich soil. Most of this region has low hills. Most of England's population lives in this region. The flattest (平坦的) lands in the lowland zone are in the eastern part of it.
