CCTV cameras watch action

In UK , Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are everywhere. They help the police solve crimes and keep the streets safe. But that’s not all they do . They also catch people doing very stupid or smart things.
One of the videos is of a British woman Mary Bale. She clearly doesn’t like cats. In 2010 she was caught on CCTV throwing one into a dustbin. The video shows Mary walking down a quiet street. All of sudden , she notices Lola the cat jump onto a fence. Mary stops to pickup Lola and drops her into a large dustbin . Lola was saved fifteen hours later. And Mary was arrested for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal . She was fined ( 罰款)£250  and was not allowed to own pets for five years.
Another video shows “ Britain’s drunkest man” . He’s been at a party at London’s Savoy Hotel. And he’d obviously had a few too many glasses of beer. At about 2 a. m. , he was kicked out for being too drunk . So, he decided to walk home. On the way , CCTV cameras filmed him falling down stairs and crossing the roads madly… A Savoy Hotel waiter said, “ It’s amazing he didn’t hurt himself badly.”
Sometimes they also record smart events. Once a British band The Get Out Clause didn’t have any money to make a music video. So , they came up with an unbelievable idea. They set up their instruments ( 樂器) and played a song in front of eight CCTV cameras. And then, according to the English Freedom of Information Act , they asked for a copy of all the footages ( 視頻) , which they edited. The result is that a totally new music video was made, and it didn’t cost them a penny.

March 24th
This morning, we had a school trip to the Dashan Collection House, a building of two floors. It is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We took the school bus and arrived at 9:00. When we entered the collection house, our eyes were caught by a collection of old photos of the town on the walls of the front hall. Those photos told us something about the history of the town. And then in the Art Room, we saw many pictures of the countryside. The colors of the flowers and trees are rich and bright. All at once, I lost myself in the beauty of nature.
Then we went upstairs. On the left, there were over one hundred different clocks. The oldest clock was already more than two hundred years old. To my surprise, the clocks all worked well and they could tell the right time. It was then ten o’clock, and some clocks produced different beautiful sounds. It seemed to be a concert. How amazing!
On the right there was also a stone collection. The stones were from all over the country. They were in different sizes, colors and shapes. Some looked like different kinds of animals. I really liked one stone that looked like a little monkey. It looked very nice.
The collections there were wonderful. So they stayed there until 11:30 in the morning. I had a great time and really liked the school trip.

Their parents say, “ Our children are very good. They like pop music, but they play it in their own rooms. They help in the house. You know they feel bored sometimes because there’s nothing interesting in the neighborhood,no clubs, and no sports. They have nothing to do.
A teacher says that he believes most young people are very kind.He thinks that it’s not bad for young people to like loud music because it can give them lots of energy and make them feel excited .Also, a lot of young people work very hard at school, and they can get good jobs later.
Lewis,a sixteen-year-old boy said, “I have passed all my examinations, but I can’t get a part-time job because older people always think I’m lazy.”

Some children are born bosses. They have a need to make decisions, manage their environment and lead rather than follow. Too much rule in the hands of the young isn’t healthy for children or the family. Family expert John Taylor says, “Children have secret feelings of weakness. They are always trying to feel safe. ”It’s the parents’ duty-not the child’s-to provide safety.
When a “boss child’’ doesn’t learn limits(限制)at home, troubles will appear outside the family. The child may have trouble obeying(遵守)teachers, for example, or keeping friends. It can be pretty lonely as the top dog if no one likes your ruling ways.
Bossy kids are often unusually bright. Their parents need to be especially careful to manage them. Bossy kids usually work more on the mother. It’s important for both parents to know their child’s weakness, to agree on key rules and to back each up.
Even as you try to be kind—to a point—don’t give up your parental ruling post. Instead, stand your ground by using body language that tells your child who the boss is.
Good manners are important to family. Show a child by example how to ask for something rather than shout orders. Try asking your child to do things that are not too difficult. Then reward(獎勵)him with a hug(擁抱)and words such as “Thank you. I like it when you listen to me.” Over time good manners will become associated(聯(lián)結(jié))with pleasure.
小題1:Is the passage mainly about how to teach children?
小題2:Do boss children usually feel lonely or have a lot of friends?
小題3:Which of the parents should know their child’s weakness?
小題4:Why is it important to teach children good manners?
小題5:What should parents be like to teach a boss child well?
