   Taking away a city's rubbish is a big job. Every day trucks come into a city to collect it. Most rubbish is useless. If we kept these things, we would soon have a mountain of rubbish.

   In some cities people collect the rubbish and take it outside of the city to a dump (垃圾場(chǎng)).People often build the city dump in a low ground or a place with a big hole.    In other cities people burn the rubbish in special places. The fire burns everything but the metal (金屬).Sometimes we can use the metal again in special factories. We can put the food parts of rubbish in special piles and make it change into something called humus ( 豆泥).It looks like black earth. It can feed plants and help to make them grow.
