【題目】Jim always _____ a walk after dinner.Look! He ____ a walk with his dog now
A. is taking, takesB. taking; takingC. takes; is taking
可知下文為現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài),現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)的構(gòu)成為be+動(dòng)詞的現(xiàn)在分詞,主語是he,第三人稱單數(shù),所以be動(dòng)詞用is,take的現(xiàn)在分詞是taking。故答案選C。

Smartphone ban (禁令)
According to the survey conducted last year, 68.1 percent of Chinese primary and junior high school students have their own smartphones. To keep students from playing with their smartphones in class, some schools have already banned smartphones on campus.
Lei Yanqin, a deputy (代表) of the National People’s Congress (NPC, 全國(guó)人民代表大會(huì)), suggested that smartphones should be banned at schools nationwide. She said that listening to music and playing games in class not only bother teachers, but also make it difficult for students to concentrate (集中注意力). She added that students might also show off their phones too much.
Video game rating system (分級(jí)制度)
Over 200 million teenagers across China play online games like King of Glory (《王者榮耀》), Guangming Daily reported. With their computers and tablets, teenagers are able to play most online games produced in China and abroad. 【題目】European cities are known as popular tourist places. Every year, thousands of people go to cities like Venice and Amsterdam to learn about their history, experience their culture and just have fun. But some of the cities have been taking action to reduce (減少) the number of visitors.
Venice is known for its beautiful landmarks, such as St Mark’s Square. But people there say that the large ships that sail near the city center are ruining (破壞) their appearance, according to The Telegraph.
Residents have complained that the “ugly” ships are much bigger than the local buildings. They make the area look strange, as well as damage the canals (運(yùn)河). In response, the Italian government stopped cruise ships from sailing past St Mark’s Square last year.
In Amsterdam, the Netherlands’ capital, noisy tourists are unwelcome. The city has worked out plans to limit the number of tourists who can come to the city, the Daily Mail reported. Many residents believe that increased tourism has brought more rubbish to the city’s streets. It has also caused an increase in noise pollution.
Airbnb and other “home rentals” that are popular with tourists will face restrictions (限制), too. Fewer tourists will be able to stay in the city. “Beer bikes”, or multi-person bikes that have tables for drinking beer, will also be restricted. It is expected that getting rid of these bikes will make the city quieter and more peaceful for local people.
【1】Which of the following may not be the reason for the tourists to visit European cities?
A. Learning about their history.B. Experiencing their culture.
C. Ruining their appearance.D. Just for fun.
【2】What makes Venice look strange according to local people?
A. Local buildings.B. Landmarks.C. The canals.D. Ships.
【3】What is the major reason for Amsterdam to reduce its number of visitors?
A. Limited resources.B. Increased noise pollution.
C. Damage to buildings.D. Crowded buses.
【4】What is the main idea of the passage?
A. How Venice and Amsterdam protect local people.
B. Some European cities are reducing their number of visitors.
C. How visitors have ruined local people’ lives.
D. Why visitors are unwelcome in other countries.

A group of high school students from the United States has planted hope by cleaning up an empty lot(一塊地) in their neighborhood.
The students are from Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio. The empty lot, which is owned by a 1ocal bank, was filled with grass and poison ivy(毒葛). As a project for the school’s biohealth(生物健康) class, eight students decided to turn the empty lot into a space that will improve the mental(心里的) and emotional(情感的) health of people who live near it.
They first came up with a design, did research and created 3D models of their plans. Ideas were then presented and the school leaders picked the winning plans. Finally, the students brought those plans to life.
Now when you walk into the lot, you can see a wood walkway leading to a purple iron bench. A few beautiful plants are already in the ground. There is also a hopscotch(跳房子游戲) board that is painted bright blue. A wall painting with the words “Love” and “Peace” has taken shape on a back fence, decorated with the students’ handprints. The rest of the fence was painted grey to cover plain wood.
The students said they painted the bench purple because they found that purple has a comforting feeling for people. They thought kids could go there and sit together, communicate with each other in peac and stay out of trouble.
As for the hopscotch board, it was set up for a group of eight to ten school-age kids who lived in the neighborhood but had nowhere to play.
It gives the neighborhood a little hope and a little beauty, “said Lyle Jenkins, a member of the Neighborhood Network.” A lot of people love the neighborhood and have great hopes for things getting better.
