Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and it also means that the Christmas shopping season begins every year in the USA.

Most stores offer big sales on Black Friday. They try to attract（吸引）shoppers with big discounts（打折）. Some items（商品）are much cheaper than usual. Stores may even lose money on these items.

Black Friday is a great time for shopping. However, there are problems. The biggest one is that there are not enough low-priced items. Each store may only have some, so people stand in long lines to get them. They may wait several hours before a store opens.

Once, there happened a shipwreck(船難). All the people on the ship died except a man. He couldn’t swim. But luckily, he was washed up on a small lonely island with the help of a wooden door. Early the next day, however, he was awakened(喚醒) by the sound of a ship that was coming to the island. It came to save him. Luckily, he was saved. On the way home, he asked, “How did you know I was here?” “We saw your smoke sign.” they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged(氣餒的) when things are going bad. But we shouldn’t lose heart. Changes and chances are just around us. If we hold on straight to the end, we will see the success and sunshine in our life.
