【題目】我想知道這位學(xué)生分發(fā)所有的雜志是否很有困難。

I wonder ____________________________________________________.

【答案】if/ whether the student has great difficulty handing out all the magazines.

【解析】

動詞wonder后面是賓語從句,if或者whether引導(dǎo)從句表達是否;從句的主語是the student這位學(xué)生;謂語動詞是一般現(xiàn)在時的第三人稱單數(shù)has;表達做某事有困難have difficulty doing;此處用has great difficult handing out表示分發(fā)雜志有困難,賓語是all the magazines。故答案為if/ whether the student has great difficulty handing out all the magazines.

【題目】 When we wake up feeling sleepy and with dark circles under eyes, many of us often think "I'm going to go to bed earlier tomorrow!" But however determined (有決心的) we are. Chances are that we don't stick to our promise.

This behavior is called "bedtime procrastination (拖延癥) , and results from lack of (缺乏) self-control and our body clock. Reported Huffpost.

According to a study carried out by a group of health psychologists at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (荷蘭)in 2014, bedtime procrastination is a common problem. In their study, 53 percent of the2, 400participants (參與者)said they didn't follow their sleep schedule (日程) , delaying (延遲) it at last twice a week.

It's found that they delayed bedtime not because they liked to stay up late, but they couldn't stop doing other trivial (瑣碎的) things, which were keeping them up in he first place.

"People who generally have trouble fighting against temptations (誘惑) and sticking to their intentions (意圖) are also more likely to delay going to bed, "Floor Kroese, a psychologist at Utrecht University, further explained to HuffPost.

Yet, according to scientists, lack of self-control is not the only thing to blame (責(zé)備) . Our body clock also plays an important role when it comes to bedtime.

In order to check the influence of the body clock on sleep, psychologists at Um University in Germany studied the sleep patterns (模式)of 108 people in February. It was found that those who get up late are more likely to postpone their bedtime than those who wake early every morning.

And more surprisingly, night owls (夜貓子) would go to bed late at the very beginning of the weekday, even though they had to get up early for work and school. It's their special body cock that plays a part in delaying their bedtime, reported Popular Science.

【題目】 One cool April 22 morning, people started the day as usual. Yet it was not a normal day. What’s so special about April 22? The answer is because it is Earth Day. People all over the world celebrate this important day. The idea of having a special day to celebrate Earth began in the 1960s. Life was very different then.1 Most people had no idea how dirty our air and water were.

On April 22, 1970, twenty million Americans joined the first Earth Day activities. This showed that people really want to do something for the environment. Since then laws have been passed to protect the air, water, land, and animals. The vehicles (汽車) such as cars and buses you ride in must pass tests to make sure they don't cause too much pollution. Thanks to it, cars today give out about half as many bad chemicals as they did in the past.

2It's a good thing because they have got a lot of help. The Cuyahoga River in Ohio was so polluted that rubbish and oil on the river even caught fire! Today, the river is cleaner. It no longer burns.3

Now the celebration has spread to other countries. More than 175 countries take part each year. Every April 22, millions of people get together to clean and protect the Earth. 4 Our job is to put this knowledge to work. You can help keep our planet healthy, too!

A.They also celebrate how far we have come.

B.It's healthy enough for birds, fish, and other animals.

C.As a result, the air we breathe is cleaner than it once was.

D.Few people talked or even thought about the environment.

E.Rivers and lakes are also cleaner today than they were before.

F.Many animals near and in the river come back again after that.
