11.Did you once sense that someone was watching you?You turned around and, sure enough, someone was looking right at you!
Many people believe that humans have a natural ability to sense when someone is looking at them.To research whether humans really have such a"sixth sense",Robert Baker,a psychologist(心理學家) at the University of Kentucky, did two experiments.
In the first one,Baker sat behind unknowing people in public places and looked at their backs for 5to 15minutes.The subjects (受試者) were eating, drinking, reading, studying, watching TV,or working at a computer.Baker made sure that the people could not tell that he was sitting behind them during the time.Later when he questioned the subjects, almost all of them said they had no sense that someone was watching them.
For the second experiment,Baker told the subjects that they would be watched from time to time from behind. The people had to write down when they felt them being watched and when they weren't.Baker found the subjects couldn't tell when they were looked at.They didn't know when they weren't watched either.
Baker concludes that people do not have the ability to sense when they are being watched. If people doubt the outcomeof his two experiments, said Baker,"I suggest they repeat the experiments and see for themselves."

To research whether humans really have such a"sixth sense",Robert Baker,a psychologist(心理學家) at the University of Kentucky,did two experiments.
I suggest they repeat the experiments and see for themselves,及上文描述,可知此處指的是我建議他們重復實驗去自己看看,這里指質(zhì)疑實驗的結(jié)果,所以才會建議重復實驗,故選D,結(jié)果.
The people had to write down when they felt them being watched and when they weren't.Baker found the subjects couldn't tell when they were looked at.They didn't know when they weren't watched either.
Baker concludes that people do not have the ability to sense when they are being watched. If people doubt the outcomeof his two experiments, said Baker,"I suggest they repeat the experiments and see for themselves.",可知貝克得出結(jié)論:認為人們沒有能力感到別人盯著他看或不看,所以在兩個實驗中的受試者沒有第六感.故選D.
