Playgrounds offer kids fresh air, friends, and exercise. However, each year, more than 200,000 kids go to hospital because they are hurt in one way or another when playing on the playground. So what can we do to improve the situation?
We should make sure the playground is safe for the children. It should be soft and thick enough, so when the children fall, they won't hurt too much. Things like water, rocks or broken glass might cause danger to the kids. Cleaners should check the playground from time to time and clear away these dangerous things. In fact, children themselves also need to help keep the playground clean and safe. That means each time after playing they should pick up the rubbish they've produced. If someone finds there is something wrong with the equipment(設(shè)施), he should report to the keeper of the playground, so people will come to fix it.
Teaching kids how to play safely is also very important. If they know the rules of the playground, they won't get hurt easily. For example, they should never push when others are on seesaws or swings. If someone is going to jump off some equipment, he should first look down to make sure no other kids are in the way. Of course, wearing right clothes may also help to keep safe. Clothes with strings(繩) can get caught on equipment which may hurt the kid badly.
In short, our kids can both enjoy themselves and be safe if we are working together to improve the situation.

Ten-year-old Barack Obama was one of the only three black students at his school in Hawaii, the US. He is different from most of the other students. White girls wanted to touch his hair. A white boy asked him whether his father ate people. “I lied to them that my father was a Kenyan prince(王子). But I kept asking myself who I was,” said Obama.37 years later, to everyone’s surprise, the boy became well-known. On November 4th, 2008, Obama became the first black president in US history. Obama was born to an African father and a white American woman from a small town in the US in 1961. He grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii. This unusual background (背景) made him wonder who he was. He even wanted to forget this question. With the help of his friends, Obama finally turned his life around in the university. After leaving from Columbia University in 1983, he had a great idea—working hard to bring change to the world. So he moved from New York to Chicago in 1985 and worked in a poor African-American area for three years. After that, he studied laws in Harvard University and graduated in 1991.Later,he became the third black senator (參議員) in US history. During his race to the highest post in the US, Obama talked about his background. He called for a United States of America, rather than a white America or a black America. Obama’s success made Martin Luther King’s dream come true. That is: A man should not be judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.” He said at the speech in Chicago after he was elected.

How can you create public transport in the Amazon jungle(亞馬遜叢林)without polluting it?The Achuar people(阿丘雅人)in Ecuador(厄瓜多爾)have found a clever solution.
Since April 2017,a boat powered completely by solar energy has travelled along the rivers that connect nine different small villages in the jungle. The boat,Tapiatpia,is named after a special kind of electric eel(電鰻)in the area. It has given the Amazon its first solar—powered public transport system. It creates no pollution in the jungle which is home to the largest number of plants and animals in the world.
Transport in the area used to rely on boats powered by petrol(汽油). These boats were expensive to run because petrol here cost five times more than that in the capital city of Quito(基多). Tapiatpia is cheaper to run,and therefore the fare for each stop is lower. A solar—powered boat ride costs one dollar per stop for each passenger, while a petrol—powered boat ride costs at least five dollars.
The solar-powered boat, which can carry 18 people at a time,is changing life in the jungle. More children go to school because the fare is more affordable. Besides, when someone is ill,his family or friends can call the boat on the radio:the boat will come immediately and take the patient to a health center quickly. More inter-village sporting events. are held, too, because of the use of the solar-powered boat.
Many people think the solar-powered boat can be used in the rest of the Amazon, where there is an urgent need for both public transport and environmental protection.
1.Who has found the solution to travelling without polluting the Amazon?

2.What does the italic word "It" in the second paragraph refer to?

3.In the past people in the Amazon travelled by petrol—powered boat, didn't they?

6.Is it necessary for the rest of the Amazon to use the solar—powered boat?Give your reason.
