For over 100 years, it is convenient (方便的) for people to go from one place to another by taxi. But sometimes there are no taxis coming to the place you are waiting. However, this has become a thing of the past since Uber app appeared.
What is Uber
Uber is an American company that provides a taxi service through an app on the smartphone. It was set up in March, 2009 and has grown quickly. An app, in fact, is a computer program working on smartphones, computers and other communication devices. By using your smartphone, you can easily and quickly order a taxi that takes you to the place you want to go to.
Uber app makes you feel good
The nicest thing about Uber app is that you can see where your taxi is or how long it will take to arrive at your place on your smartphone screen. And when you wait for the taxi, you can call or send messages to the driver because Uber app will give you the telephone number of the driver.
Uber taxis are always available
Uber is always there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you want to go somewhere, you can easily open Uber app at home or anywhere in the open air, then it connects you to the nearest driver.
Usually it takes only between 5 and 15 minutes to get a Uber taxi by using Uber app.
The advantages of Uber
Many people like Uber because it is simple and very user-friendly. You have nothing to do with a taxi company. If you are not pleased with the ride and the driver, you can write complaints and give the driver a low score through Uber app, so Uber taxi drivers usually serve well. Generally speaking, Uber is simple and time-saving, and most importantly, it is very easy to use.
The cost of a Uber taxi
At Uber, the payment is easy through your bank card. How much you need to pay depends on the country and the city that you are in. It is sure that Uber taxis are much cheaper than taxis you used to take.

【題目】 As the days get hotter, we can stay inside and turn on the air conditioning to stay comfortable. But do you know that in ancient China, people used a different kind of "air conditioning"?
Starting from the Qin Dynasty, royal and rich families began to store ice during winter. As summer began, they used ice to cool their homes. People would put a container with many ice cubes inside of it in their rooms. Servants would fan the containers to create cool air.
But common people couldn't store ice. So they spent hot days near wells. Some people would keep their food in empty wells. The wells would keep the food cool and fresh, just like a refrigerator.
Chinese people also made their own summer drinks, such as well water and drinks made from herbs(草藥). It is said that Kublai Khan—emperor of the Yuan Dynasty—liked drinking milk with ice an(sweet candy. Some people believe that it was the world's first ice cream.

【題目】 Last year in the UK at least 45 people died and 900 more were injured in car accidents where drivers were using their mobile phones. Yet many people continue to use them while driving even though it's dangerous.
Research has shown that it is difficult to concentrate on driving and talking at the same time. It can even be more dangerous than driving after drinking too much. A recent study found that when drivers were talking on their mobile phones, their stopping times were 30 percent slower than when they had drunk too much—and nearly 50 percent slower than when they were driving normally. It also found that drivers talking on mobile phones were less able to control their cars than drunk drivers.
And talking isn't even the most serious problem, texting is. Unbelievably, another recent study reported that 22 % of adults admitted they had sent a text message while driving at least once in the past month. An average text message takes 90 seconds to write and send. That means for one and a half minutes a driver is looking at their phone's screen and not at the road. The arrival of new smart phones such as the iPhone will only make matters worse as they will allow users to do more things than ever before.
Using a mobile phone while driving puts others' lives at risk. No matter how well we drive, if another driver is not being professional or careful, we are put in danger by their actions. Such drivers are selfish, careless and should have their driving licences (駕照) cancelled.
There is no doubt that mobile phones call be fun and are extremely useful, especially when you're in trouble. But there is no need to use them while driving. Just wait until you stop or you will probably get into trouble of your own.

Dangerous→More dangerous→Most dangerous
A.drinking→talking on phone→textingB.texting→talking on phone→drinking
C.talking on phone→texting→drinkingD.drinking→texting→talking on phone
【4】Why will new types of mobile phones make the driving problem worse?
A.It will take longer to send text messages.
B.People will want to talk on their phones more often.
C.There will be more things for people to do with their phones.
