It's true that you can learn new words when you read or listen, but you should also study new words seriously. Here are a few things I do:

Make flash cards(識字卡):(A) I find this is really the best way to learn new words. Make some small cards and write the new English word on one side and the word in your language or in easy English on the other side to test yourself. To really make this work, you have to review often(You need a system! ). I think this is the best method for learning English vocabulary.

Make sentences with the new words: This is great if you can ask someone to check them. It's also great to make some really crazy sentences-that way you won't forget them! I also collect example sentences of the words I'm trying to learn一if I see the word in a book, I write down the sentence.

Make up a mnemonic:A mnemonic is a way to remember something, like a little story. For example, (B) 我在廚房的門上貼上單詞 kitchen. The problem with this is that it works for a while but then you get used to the words and forget to read them!

1.把文中(A)處句子翻譯成漢語.

2.How does the writer collect example sentences of the words he is trying to learn?

3.把短文中(B)處的句子翻譯成英語.

How to keep safe in chatting online

Remember that online friends are really strangers (陌生人). People online, no matter how long you have been talking to them or how friendly they are, may not be who they say they are.

Meeting someone you have only been in touch (接觸) with online can be dangerous. If you feel that you have to meet, you must tell your parents and take them with you—at least on the first visit—and meet in a public place in the daytime.

Stay calm in chat. Keep your personal information secret when chatting online (name, address, telephone number, mobile number, email address, pictures), even if people ask for this. Giving out personal information can make you dangerous.

Use a nickname (昵稱), not your real name, and a nickname that is not going to bring the wrong kind of meaning.

Tell your parents if someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable or worried.

Learn how to keep a copy of the conversation (對話) in chat—this may be useful if you want to report something.

1.We should think the friends online as ________ in our real life.

A.real friends B.strangers C.family members D.teachers

2.We should ________ if we have to meet a friend online.

Funny astronauts are wanted by NASA(美國國家航空航天局) which needs astronauts to join the flight to Mars in 2030.

A trip to Mars and back to Earth would take around two years in a small spacecraft. So the team needs astronauts with a sense of humor during the long journey. They can help everyone get along well. They can also make the journey more enjoyable.

A scientist at the University of Florida told the newspaper, “ As astronauts we will fly the spaceship and do scientific experiments such as growing plants and repair the space ship. Many unpredictable(難以預料的) difficulties are waiting for us.” Then He added, “In stressful situations, perhaps humor is a way to know we aren’t alone. By laughing together, we share our stress. Then we can focus on our jobs instead of just worrying.”

Here are some of the requirements for astronauts from NASA. They must be smart, able to stay calm all the time and tell stories as well as jokes. Also, the astronauts need to have crazy wig(假發(fā)), oversized boots and big red noses. However being funny is not enough. They are supposed to be excellent scientists and engineers who can finish hard training.
