One day, I saw a boy shop alone at the shop I worked. He chose some school things he wanted and went to the checkout (付款臺).
The young shop assistant (店員) told him he needed to pay $37.60. The boy became very sad and said he only had $20. He took out one thing at a time, and at last he got down to his $20. With eyes full of tears, he asked if he could call his mom to pick him up. When he got through, it seemed that his mom was too busy to pick him up in a minute.
He tried to stop the tears and walked outside to wait on the chair in front of the shop. This was too much for the young assistant. She kept looking outside to see if the boy was all right. Then she said, “I wish I could pay for the rest (剩余部分) of his things.” One of the other girls said she had a few dollars. Then two others said they could help, too.
These four young girls pooled their money and found they had more than enough to pay for the boy's things. Then they chose more school things, and gave them all to the boy. The boy laughed happily. His mom arrived much later, but he didn't just run to the car; he ran back into the shop and called out, “Thank you!”

Tom and his friends have set up a club. It is called Online Travelling Club. They go on holidays together to different countries, but instead of taking planes or train, they go there on the computer.
Every week they decide on which country they want to visit and then they organize the 'trip'. To become a member of the club, students must give themselves a funny name. For example, Tom's club name is `double-click', while another member calls herself 'Icon'.
Tom spends his free time designing a newsletter. Every week he sends the newsletter by e-mail to all of the members. The newsletter includes information about famous tourist areas in the country he has chosen for the club to go to that week. Once the members have received this e-mail, they can begin their travels. They connect(連接)to the Internet to look at all the interesting places and pictures of the country. If you are an online traveller, you can visit a museum, a beach and a mountain all in one day because these places all appear on your computer screen.

People have lots of different thoughts that they wish to express. For many reasons, most people just keep their thoughts to themselves and never tell them to others. Another form of self-expression is the written word. For many people, it is easier for them to express their thoughts or emotions in writing, instead of speaking them out. It is an especially popular way for expression among shy and highly self-conscious (自尊) people. People′s thoughts are written down and then published(出版) so that others can read and enjoy them.
There are many reasons why newspapers and publishers actually publish people′s thoughts, but the major reason is to give information. With the introduction of newer technologies, new ways now appear to share people′s ideas quickly. Blogs are just one way. People can now let the world know their hopes, dreams and day to day activities through a web blog. Better than that, many sites allow customers to create their own web blog for free. The word blog comes from the words web and log. Slogging is the term that is used to refer to activities relating to a blog, such as creating it, updating and adding content(內(nèi)容).
