Our Future Life in Changzhou

What will the life in Changzhou be like in the future? Most of my classmates think that the underground will be put in service in 2015. People won’t need buses because they can go around the city easily and quickly by underground. As a result, there will be less noise pollution. More than half of the students believe that people will have robots at home in 2045. Robots will do everything for people, so they can spare more time to develop their interest. Less than half of the students support the opinion that people will eat a kind of special food in form of pills in 2075. It will be unnecessary for people to spend much time on meals. About 30 students insist that people will never get ill in 2105 because scientists and doctors will find a new way to keep people healthy forever. Isn’t it amazing to have such a kind of future life?

Much meaning can be conveyed (傳送) with our eyes, so it is often said that eyes can speak. Do you have such kind of experience? In a bus you may look at a stranger, but not too long. And if he is sensing that he is being stared (盯) at, he may feel uncomfortable.

The same is in daily life. If you are looked at for more than necessary, you will look at yourself up and down to see if there is anything wrong with you. If nothing goes wrong, you will feel angry toward other’s stare at you that way. Eyes do speak, right?

Looking too long at someone may seem to be impolite and even rude. But things are different when it comes to stare at the opposite sex. If a man stares at a woman for more than 10 seconds and refuses to turn his eyes away from the woman, his purpose is obvious. That is, he wishes to attract her attention, to make her understand that he is admiring her.

However, the normal eye contact for two people during a conversation is that the speaker will only look at the listener from time to time; in order to make sure that the listener is paying attention to what the speaker is speaking, to tell him that he is interested.

If a speaker looks at you continuously when speaking, as if he tries to control you, you will feel uncomfortable. A poor liar(說謊者) usually looks too long at the victim, because he believes that looking straight in the eye is a sign of honest communication.

In fact, continuous eye contact only happens between two lovers, who will enjoy looking at each other gently for a long time, to show feeling that words cannot express. Obviously, eye contact should be done according to the relationship between two people and the proper situation.
