London has a population of over 7 ,000,000. From about the year 1800 until World War Ⅱ， London was the biggest city in the world. But now there are many cities which are much bigger than it.
London is famous for many things. Tourists come from all over the world to visit its famous buildings and hear the famous clock,Big Ben.
Like many big cities,London has problems with traffic and pollution which stop the city from developing. Over one million people a day use the London underground,but there are still too many cars on the streets. The air isn’t clear,but it is anyhow cleaner than it was 100 years ago.

Who is the greatest teacher in Chinese history? Many people would say:Confucius (孔子) . September 28 is his birthday. He was born over 2 ,000 years ago,but people still remember him on this day.
Confucius lived in the kingdom of Lu,part of today's Shandong Province. He lived during the Spring and Autumn Period. His childhood was sad. Confucius is not only a great teacher,but also a famous thinker with wise thoughts about the world and society. His most important teachings are about kindness and good manners.“A kind person should care for others. Be strict with yourself,but be kind to others”’he said.
