科目:初中英語 來源:外研版七年級英語下冊Module 5 Unit 2 You can buy everything on the Internet. 題型:閱讀單選
Shopping on the Internet is becoming more and more popular. Why do people use the Internet to shop? Some people say it is more convenient. They don’t have to leave their homes to order something; they can shop for anything they want at any time; they can find things for sale that they can’t find in the stores near their homes. Still other people say they can find better prices on the Internet.
If you want to buy something on the Internet, you need a credit(信用) card. You have to type your credit card number and information on the website(網(wǎng)頁) and send them to the store over the Internet. You have to be sure that the store will not use your information in the wrong way. You don’t want someone to get your credit card number, so be careful with it, beause people sometimes steal(竊取) credit card numbers from stores.
The Internet is also a good place to go window-shopping. Window-shopping is when you look at the things for sale in a store, but don’t plan to buy anything. In window-shopping you can see what kinds of things you are able to get and how much they cost. Some stores like Ross Stores have a website for information about their stores, but not for shopping. Some stores have a website for information about their stores, and can shop on-line there, such as Office Depot, Payless Shoe Source, Safeway. Some stores like Amazon. com are only for on-line shopping.

Recently, a collection of comics, drawn by students from Nanjing Forestry University(南京林業(yè)大學NFU), went viral(快速傳播)online. These students didn’t just draw the comics for fun. Instead, they regarded them as a way to show their regret for things they had done wrong.
Li Yong, a teacher at the university, came up with the idea of “self-criticism comics.” At the beginning of this term, he gave his students a special instruction that, if anybody broke any school rule, he would have to express his remorse(自責)by either writing or drawing a letter of self-criticism.
Li said that students used to give him written letters of self-criticism but they often copied the content of their essays(短文)from the Internet. He had been thinking of changing the form of the letters of self-criticism, so that students would really understand they had done something wrong.
Almost all of the students who had broken a school rule chose to produce their letters of self-criticism in the form of comics. Some said it was easier to draw comics than to write a 5,000-word letter; others said they became more aware of their mistakes by drawing rather than writing.

The human brain is very small and light only two percent of our total body weight, but it needs about 20% of the oxygen(氧氣) that our body takes in. We can't think well if our brain isn't getting enough oxygen, so always make sure there is enough oxygen in the air when you need to learn or remember something. No one can remember everything. but everyone can learn how to improve their memory. Here are some suggestions ---none of them can make your memory 100% perfect, but all of them are helpful.
When you want to remember something, tell a friend about it. This way the new information becomes more memorable. Later on, think about the conversation with your friend. It will remind you of the information you wanted to remember.
Don't over-train your brain. When you've remembered a list of new words, stop studying. It's better to study a lot of material for a small amount of time than a small amount of material for a lot of time! But remember you do have to practice your new words regularly!
Our memory works well when we are asleep. If you want to remember something, go to bed and go to sleep right now after learning it.
If you have to remember something big, divide it into small parts. It's easier to remember 198756430387 if you divide it into four smaller bits:198-756-430-387.
If you want to remember a piece of information, and you can't, don't get angry. Relax and tell yourself, "If it's important, I will remember it later.”
One of the best ways of remembering is to make pictures on the movie-screen of your mind and it's fun, too! Scientists say that our brain works a lot in pictures. So sometimes, if we want to remember new information, it helps to make a picture story. Anyone can learn to do this.
1.If you Weigh fifty kilograms, how heavy is your brain?
A.About ten kilograms.
B.About two kilograms.
C.About one kilogram.
2.How many helpful suggestions are mentioned in the passage?
A.Five. B.Six. C.Seven.
3.What should someone do after he has remembered a list of new words?
A.He should rest, then practice them regularly.
B.He should tell himself about what he has done.
C.He should continue to remember more new words.
4.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.It's useless to remember something before going to sleep.
B.It's easier to remember something by dividing it into small parts.
C.It's harder to remember something by changing words into pictures.
5.What's the best title of this passage?
A.An introduction to our brain.
B.Some good ways of learning.
C.Advice on improving our memory.
