Many people love taking photographs. Some are good at taking pictures of people. Others focus more on sports or nature.
Mr. Luo, a retired railroad worker, took up photography at age 60. He joined a photography club and became an active member of it. He often went on bike rides and took pictures. This summer he did something unusual but amazing with his camera.
On that day, Mr. Luo got up at 5:00 am. He went to a pond in the countryside where there were always plenty of dragonflies. With great excitement, he set up his camera. First, he found a water bug in the muddy water. He waited until the bug climbed up a lily pad. There, it stopped to rest. Fifteen minutes later, the bug's body began to change. The skin split behind the head, and the adult dragonfly crawled out of its old skin. One hour later, the dragonfly started to separate its wings, which had been wet and folded at the beginning. Then, the dragonfly opened its wings for the first time. In another hour, the dragonfly moved with its wings and flew off for food.
He took a series of pictures of a dragonfly that was changing from a nymph to an adult. Using his camera, he recorded (記錄) the whole process, which took nearly five hours!

Anxiety is the appropriate emotion when the personal terror – of a volcano, an arrow, a stab(刺傷) in the back and other disasters, all directed against one’s self – d1..
The kind of world that produces anxiety is actually a world of relative s2., a world in which no one feels that he himself is facing sudden death. The anxiety exists as an uneasy state of mind, in which one has a feeling that something unspecified(不具體的) and indeterminable may go wrong. If the world seems to be going well, this produces anxiety – for good times may end. If the world is going badly – it may get w3.. Anxiety tends to be without f4.; the anxious person doesn’t know whether to blame himself or other people. He isn’t sure whether it is the current year of the administration or a change in climate or the atom bomb that is to blame for this undefined sense of unease.
It is clear that we have developed a society which depends on having the right amount of anxiety to make it work. W5. we agree that too much anxiety is harmful to mental health, we have come to rely on anxiety to push us into seeing a doctor about a symptom which may indicate cancer, into checking up on that old life insurance policy which may have out-of-date terms in it, into having a conference with our child’s teacher even though his report card looks all right.
People who are anxious enough keep their car insurance up, have the brakes checked, don’t take a drink when they have to drive. People who are too anxious either r6. to go into cars – and so complicate the ordinary course of life – or drive so tensely and carefully that they help avoid accidents.
